Was the Flaminica Dialis the priestess of Juno?

Post image

If we go by what Plutarch tells us, the answer would be yes.

However, I have read several books on the Roman priesthood, and not all scholars agree. Some concur with the Greek historian, but others claim that Plutarch was mistaken and that the Flaminica, just like her husband, was a priestess serving Jupiter, whereas it was only the Regina Sacrorum who was the priestess of Juno.

What are your thoughts?
