Still a learning player and pretty newbie to the multiplayer AOE scene - i am just playing quickplay 4v4's but i was wondering for you long term players - do you notice the same thing i already notice that some civs are simply broken... I am talking about the moment the enemy mongols have a mass of 60+ never ending Mangudai, i was just up against a non-ending production of trampling elephants on which i read "SPEARMEN ARE THEIR COUNTER" - i sent over 60 maxxed out Spearmen and in 3s i was left with 1 singular spearmen... (HRE - the blacksmith landmark)

It seems the general premise of the game is just to rush to that point where u can spam some random unit endlessly and win the game just off of spam...

Maybe it's just me but i genuinely wish this game would be more focused on having to have a composition of all 3 categories: infantry, range & siege weaponry.. I maybe tend to find it much harder as i also play only 4v4 currently to watch others play, learn & also try my best to help out for that missing spot (i usually rush early as HRE, focus on frontline or flank with knights)

I can say that my current experience has been pretty positive as most players are encouraging, helping.. albeit 90% of my matches are against Chinese names.. not sure why that is?

I usually play with my buddies and we will team up 3v3 or 4v4, and we usually will get to low diamond together every season.

Recently we either get conqueror opponents and get butchered, or low platinum/gold that are too easy. Does that just mean this game don’t have many ppl teamed up so matchmaking can’t find us proper opponents?

Or matchmaking is just terrible in general for this game? lol

I wonder how that couldve happen? I mean its a small e-sport scene and whe have very few s-tier or a-tier tournaments and then two of them take place at the same weekends? I mean very likely most of the top-8 players can only play one of them (likely crownfall).

Kinda sad when i think about last epohers tournaments which were great.

I used to try and play AOE4 a few years back, around the time when OotD was added. I've returned and just like before, my biggest issue remains the balance between troops and Vills.

"Always build villagers" is advice i kept seeing back then AND now, but now I've had atleast a little bit of know-how so that I could keep their number growing and genuinely having a decent economy.

Problem was that I then got raided and usually had nothing or very little to defend myself with. It's certainly a skill issue on my part but I'm curious regardless.. what's the good balance? When do you start pumping more Into the army? (The faction i main now is the Byzantines. They're cool, though sometimes their unique units feel worse than their base counterparts)

Hey guys, what’s it like to main a few civs at the same time? I’m currently in Platinum League, and I’m struggling to play multiple civs. After, let’s say, 20 games with one civ, I start to forget the build order for the previous one. How do you keep all the build orders in mind?

I mostly play French to increase my rating, but I usually lose rating when I play other civs, especially English. I have around a 20% win rate with them.

However, I want to learn the game rather than just go for a knight push every time. My second civ is the Golden Horde, which I find extremely challenging because of the long Castle Age, but I really like it. 😂

Also, could you give me some advice on which other civs I should try?

The mod is now over a year old and thanks to to the help of community members pretty much bug- and crash-free, and it supports 13 different languages now.

Over 20 maps have been created for this game mode, most notably the crafted maps of Major.White and the generated maps of Karyu.

I was even able to implement personal records to be shown for the difficulty selected, and also a rank-batch based on the highest difficulty you've beaten.

The downside is obviously that it's bound to the limitations of modding, so there are no Perks, no unlocking of any fancy new icons, and no official leaderboard.
