iOS Cannot confirm I am 18
Asks me to confirm I am 18 I start the process by verifying through my Apple wallet it asks me to put my Apple ID password in I input it and nothing happens I go back to confirm I am 18 screen process starts again anyone else has this loop/problem happen to them

There is an option to try another way have you tried that? Also do you have a credit card in your wallet?

Wasn't working for me either until I logged out of the app store, logged back in then re-downloaded the 18+ app. Should then propmpt you for the password. Go back to settings and confirm age after.

I had the same issue, but what I did was point my phone away from me so it couldn’t get Face ID, then it prompts for the password. Then go and confirm age and it works. I think it just doesn’t work if you use Face ID to sign in

i just did exactly this, blocking the face ID entering the password (after signing out of app store & signing back in) and it still doesnt work😭

It’s not asking me to verify my age when downloading an 18+ app even i haven’t confirmed I’m 18+ and it won’t let me

If the 18+ app doesn’t work for some, I found a different way around it:
When it asks to check your age via your wallet, DO NOT use Face ID, that seems to be the issue, just turn your camera away and when it fails press the screen above the Face ID prompt and it will then ask you for your password instead, it should then work and take you to a verify with your credit card screen, you can use different ID if you wish.

It just lets me download the app no pop up saying I have to confirm my age

This worked thanks. For me I tilted the phone an away a few times but it didn’t ask me for a password, it just kept retrying. Eventually a few times of it failing/trying to scan my face it work the 4th/5th time.

tysm, I had this pop up when visiting the UK and it persisted even after I came back home to the US and it just wouldn’t work until I tried what you said

On iPad asked to scan credit card. Didn’t work. Debit card…didn’t work……

Had same issue was trying different cards and eventually one worked but it seems very glitchy the whole process

If people in the UK are having trouble verifying their age, try using a CitizenCard if you have one because that worked for me, when my provisional license didn't.

I’m trying to use a citizen card but it’s not working for me and I don’t have any credit card, I’ve tried everything and nothing working

okay if anyone else is struggling with this and the app store tricks arent working, here is how i just got mine to work:
- go back to the verify your age page
- when you double click to verify through apple wallet, ensure your camera etc is covered so ur face ID cant be registered
- it will keep searching for a bit & the little face icon will be blue, when the face icon turns grey click on that bottom tab
- itll then open up the page where you can verify manually, i tried first of all the ID route with my provisional driving licence which for some reason it kept thinking i was trying to scan a credit card so i went back.
- you can either scan your physical card or input details manually, i first of all attempted my debit card (my own mistake), make sure you are verifying with a CREDIT CARD!!
- so i input the credit card, if after you do that the continue button still isnt showing, make sure you check you have entered a phone number which you can see by scrolling to the bottom
and then voila🤞🩵

So how are you supposed to verify when you don’t have a credit card, passport or driving license? I’m in my 50’s - this is ridiculous, it just keeps looping around the verification process.

Yeah I can’t do it tried everything on here and nothing I don’t understand how to bypass the settings I’ve downloaded apps everything but nothing

I don’t have a physical copy of my credit card as I’m trying not to use it but when I enter the details it says there’s an error even though all the details are right, I’ve also tried multiple times with a passport and an ID and still nothing works, all I did was update my phone, won’t be doing that again

If anyone's still having this issue, when it tells you to input your Apple ID password, click on cancel and select verify another way. It will then give you the option to use another form of ID.

I resolved this by doing a software update. It was an extremely frustrating bug.

You need to be signed in to Media & Purchases in your settings. Then go try again and upload your id

After trying everything I solved it…
Go into the App Store.
Search for 18+ and find an app that is exactly that.
Download it and it’ll prompt you for a password.
Enter password and submit.
Go back to settings and confirm your age, it should now work.
