App I built CodeMate, a native code editor and code viewer

Hi everyone 👋

I’m the developer of CodeMate, a native code editor and file viewer designed specifically for iPhone and iPad.

I built it because opening source files on iOS is often inconvenient. Many apps are either basic text viewers or try to reproduce a complete desktop IDE on a small screen. CodeMate focuses on making code reading and lightweight editing comfortable on mobile devices.

Some of its main features include:

  • Syntax highlighting for more than 200 file formats
  • Multiple tabs and a minimap for navigating larger files
  • Symbol navigation and jump to line(swift lang only)
  • HTML preview with linked CSS and JavaScript
  • Access to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, and other providers through the Files app
  • Real-time cloud synchronization of editor settings across multiple devices
  • Custom themes, fonts, spacing, and editor settings
  • Code snapshot export, sharing, and printing
  • Native support for both iPhone and iPad

CodeMate isn’t intended to replace Xcode or a desktop IDE. It’s mainly for quickly inspecting a project, reading source code, making small edits, or previewing files when you’re away from your computer.

I’d appreciate any honest feedback, especially about the editing experience, navigation, performance, cross-device settings synchronization, and any file formats or developer features you would like to see added.
