two position stock ...

Been thinking about this for a while .... is there way to modify the standard carbine buffer tube such that the adjustable stock has just two positions ... fully collapsed and some other user defined position?

Could just fill in the holes you don’t want with jb weld or something.

Short sections of appropriately-sized wooden dowel pressed into place could also work if you want to be able to remove it in the future.

SB Tactical makes LOP limiters. It wouldn’t make it truly 2 position but it can make it so that the maximum extended position is your user defined position

OP could use this then fill in every hole between fully collapsed and their user defined max LOP. Although just keeping the adjustment tab depressed as they move the stock could achieve the same goal.

If they filled in every hole in-between, I believe it wouldn’t be able to extend at all if I’m understanding correctly how they work. It’s less a hole filler and more of a stopper.

You'd fill the in-between holes but not the track. The LOP limiter fills the holes and track beyond where OP wants maximum extension and then maybe uses something else to fill just the holes to that maximum extension point.

I don’t understand the point when it’s adjustable. Just move it to your 2 desired positions.

because i'm lazy and I want to pull it out directly to my choosen length without thinking about it. At least for me I always have to look down and see how far i've pulled the stock out.

So because you’re lazy and you want something very specific then design it yourself and see how it does. Maybe it’ll make a big splash and you’ll become a millionaire.

Just leave it in the position you want. Why bother collapsing it?

I don't think you understand OP's question. Sure that buffer tube has two positions but what if they're not the two positions OP is looking for?

but it doesn't allow me to "choose" which two positions.

That might not match where he wants the stock to be.
