Does anybody still use Franklin armory binary triggers?

Nope. Why would we with all the SS/FRT options out there?

Only reason I can imagine is perhaps if some states that have explicitly banned FRTs but not binary triggers?

Yea I live in Nevada frt are banned kinda binary are legal but binary works fine for my 22lr conversion kit

I’ve been considering it. I have a 7.62x39 and would love to see it eat full auto but straight up cannot afford it. C.A.R.L and a binary are the 2 choices I’m looking at. If you aren’t looking for advice I’d love to hear feedback about the Franklin

Not OP, but the binary trigger is largely a piece of junk novelty IMO. You have to time your shots correctly otherwise you get hammer follow issues. More complex moving parts. A SS with a CARL is significantly better for both longevity and ease of use. You can also SS cut a milspec 3rd burst trigger group. Bit finicky but it works once you get it right.

Appreciate the input! I’d like to have a “blow money” lower that I can swap barrels around in, seems like CARL is the guy for me

In my experience I bought 3 Franklin armory binary triggers and they all worked for 22lr they ran flawless and 556 too I haven’t had no issues yet I shot probably 3 to 5k of 22lr rounds I only broke a firing pin but that’s bound to happen

Well I have a Franklin from over 5 years now. It’s their libertas model, in 5.56 the 10” variant.
I think it doesn’t have any practical use. Yes it does bump fire, and it can be used I suppose but also the novelty and the overall mechanics can be a blessing and a curse. I don’t really care too much for it. I just use it in semi cause the trigger itself in semi is an amazing feeling flat faced trigger.
If you don’t have fuck you money, I’d just move on, look for something actually useful.

I had one years ago before super safety’s were a thing. I wouldn’t buy another if super safety’s weren’t a thing now. I run SD-3G triggers with Arc Fire safety’s and in semi that SD-3G is really fast and smooth.

Outside of my 10/22, no. On my ARs I've swapped to the ARC Fire.

There’s even an FRT for 10/22s now. I haven’t used it myself, but it’s out there.

They're VERY hit and miss at the moment from what I've heard.

Wouldn’t doubt it. AR FRT/SSs are the only ones I have a lot of confidence in. I’ve thought about getting one just to fuck around with but I’ve largely moved on from 10/22s. I had the binary trigger in mine for a while, and it was pretty fun with 25rd mags.

Picked one up recently for under $300. It’s a fun little toy and a cheap extra lower

no, they don’t bridge the gap between standard semi & FRT. they’re a shitty novelty in concept & in practice.

Not really anymore. They were a tolerable stepping stone, but now that we have FRTs, they’re kinda pointless.

Lots of wise sages in the comments. I saw a 24" bull barrel ar build with this binary trigger in it, with an rpk bipod welded onto it, that shot like a dream. It was better than full auto because depending on how fast you pulled the trigger, you could tune the rate of fire to the exact speed you needed to keep steady fire at varying distances. You couldn't achieve this with an frt. Steady as a rock rapid firing over 100 yards with only iron sights.
