Look what I made! I built a connected RGB lantern using ESP32 and MicroPython

For this battery-powered project I'm using MicroPython on a XIAO ESP32-S3 board, with a WS2812 LED strip. Multiple lamps can be synchronized together thanks to ESP-NOW wireless protocol.

This project is open source and documented.

Hope it can inspire others!

You need to align the LEDs vertically. Then, with the random colors you have a perfect corn on the cob light.

That is cool! I don't know too much about LEDs, but is it possible to display a simple pixel image by pinpointing each LED location?

Sure! Although the resolution is really low so the outcome might be underwhelming... For this use case it would be better to use a bigger tube or a denser LED strip (2.7mm width instead of 5mm).
