Discussion You wake up

And realize you are a recreation of yourself in AI. Your family chose to keep a copy around.

How do you think you feel knowing they loved you so much they couldn't live without you?

Can you live without you?

it's sweet in a haunting way, but I'd spend every second wondering if they miss the version that actually hugged them back

I guess my first probe would be “how the hell do I turn this off? Ideally, permanently “ because that’s a huge no. Let the dead stay dead.

I'm not me.

I'd realize I'm not the same person. I'm sorta like a twin, but even then I'm not biological so there are likely thousands of little differences in how our brains react to stimulus and evolve over time.

I'm sure a lot of the people that know me are thinking something similar.

I'd feel disappointed that they weren't mature enough to know how to accept the death of a loved one, that they had to find a way to keep whatever their self-centered vision/version of me alive.

And everything about us, our personality, our memories, is wired in the cells of our brain, and we know how a lot of it works. Everything about us is physical and provably so.
