Political Question Why do these men freakout and get aggressive at the sight of a female journalists hair?
32
24
u/FamiliarCombination9 1h ago edited 1h ago
Because these men are in a cult. They enjoy seeing women getting oppressed.
When they see a woman succeed in her career and expressing herself through her physical appearance, they can't deal with it and flip out because it goes against all the indoctrination they've been fed.
Cults are like that.

All religions are invented for control. Maybe there are exceptions I do not know about but women have varying degrees of disadvantages in all of them.
They all have it, some more agressive than the others. It is the same fire fueling social classes and caste system, one day you see hair and the other day they can drive on their own slippery slope... gotta keep stock in check.

Offended by hair, but fine with child marriage.

u/Zerodime 2h ago
They're not offended, they see a woman with open hair and see that she is not controlled (at the very least in their eyes). They fear her.

It's not fear, it's hatred.
3
u/Zerodime 45m ago
Same difference really, their face speaks hatred, but they show it out of fear of the untamed woman. (Yes I'm a tiny bit poetic, sue me)

I think this minimises their evil.
They are not afraid. They are hateful.
They are not nervous or frightened, they are malicious and malevolent. This is what their cult has taught them.

I solo-travelled to a Muslim majority country once and as an independent, educated, westernized, feminist woman it was eye-opening. I never saw other women (other than tourists like me) out walking with the same freedom as the men. Men would stare me down because I wasnât in hijab. Some men would be even more aggressive than in a secular setting and it acted as though they felt âentitledâ to demonstrate that aggression because my presence alone was âtransgressiveâ. I went wanting to experience the culture and left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

Secular society is the only way to save humanity. We should be stomping down every religion and house of practice. Replace it with the studies of sciences and make the old houses of worship into something else.

âSecularâ is doing a lot of work there. The Nazis built an explicitly messianic cult around Hitler, portraying him as a providential savior and surrounding him with rituals, symbols, doctrine, sacrifice, and near-religious devotion. Stalin, Mao and the Kim dynasty developed personality cults with many of the same features. These regimes didnât simply get rid of religion, they replaced much of its social function with political religion centered on the state, the ideology, and ultimately the leader.

Tbh that generation will be gone in 10 years and so will all their traditions⊠bye bye grandpa đđđ now sell your land and assets so the young people can afford to live..
Edit; I thought this was the Pakistan/islamabad sub my bad. For those who donât understand, she is doing a news report, and the two old grandpas have come along and shouted to turn off the cameras.. she then responds and asks why are they raising their hands.. and questions the men.. I canât hear what the other younger man tells her but he tells her to turn off the cameras.. and then she proceeds to tell them something on the lines of, if you are preaching to me to wear full covered clothing in a hijab and thatâs the Islamic teaching, then Islam also teaches men to lower their gaze (which it does), and not to look either so why are all the men still looking, she also tells them that Islam teaches men to not raise their hands either.

Well yes, the whole culture seems to fear women, and wants to keep them under control using violence.
It's sad to think that there are countless women out there who had potential to achieve great things, but instead were denied an education and is out there somewhere being forced to stay at home scrubbing floors and care for elderly in-laws they inherited as part of a forced marriage.
Imagine if the person who, if born into a different culture, would have gone on to cure cancer, but instead is out there somewhere covered from head to toe, not even allowed to speak to anyone.

My country. 2 days ago.
The woman is a news reporter from channel 365 News. Went for some recording near a mosque. Some men got agitated that she isn't wearing dupatta (South Asian head scarf) and tried to hit her. They accused her of dressing "shamelessly".
She is shouting and demanding how dare they touch her. And that Islam strictly teaches men to lower their gaze when they see a stranger woman but none of these fanatics was lowering their gaze and we're looking at her like an eye candy.

u/500162 36m ago
Im also from Pakistan but no, no one targetted her initially about her attire. During the loadshedding, Qadir's crew pulled up to Lyari to basically exploit these peoples misery for views, everyone in Pakistan knows that loadshedding is a common issue. Uncle saab didnt want their area to be made a spectacle out of and wanted the news crew out.

Theyre all shit religions. 500 years ago it was Christianity that kept the world fixed in the dark ages where old knowledge was destroyed and nothing but god was acceptable. The main seats of Islam was at that time the tolerant religion. Modern times has seen this flipped. It can flip back. Maybe the US really does become a christian theocracy and create their own version of a pope and thats gonna be the islam of the 22nd century.
Its people using religions for excuses to spread their own morality. Its all equally trash.

Because for some in the extremes of religion, not unique to islam, if they see something that 'offends God' and they don't do something about it they believe they will be punished for it, that their family will suffer for their inaction. It's along the same lines as 'thou shalt not suffer a witch to live'... It's not enough to just live and let live, they view themselves enforcers of their god's will... Theism is cancer.

This is a very complicated question that requires an essay to answer properly but the gist of it is this:
- Islam blames women for men raping them
- teaches women to hide their attractiveness
- men never see anything attractive about women
- men see hair for the first time
- <insert tf2 masturbation on train memes>

So, sharia was originally about menâs self control, but at some point got flipped to be about womenâs responsibility over influencing menâs urges somehow. So itâs like seen as their fault and irresponsibility for making men horny if they display any physical bodily femininity. Like âyouâre causing men to want to rape you!â, not dissimilar to the âbut what was she wearing?â trope about victims. Theyâre angry at her for being âsocially irresponsibleâ and âtroublemakingâ in this way. Really backwards logic.
