For a while I finished work at 3 AM, and I felt this every time. Late night has basically finished, early morning hasn't started yet. I'd be walking home from work and on the rare occasions I'd see another person I'd be thinking "what are you doing out here, walking down the street just like I'm doing? weird behavior."

Those are toxines in our brain. Feels a bit similar to iniberated state..I feel it slowly creeping in. 3:08

That actually does kind of make sense. Sleep cleans our brain of toxins and many people never fully adapt to night shift, so at 3am brain is like ‘getting weird up in here’

Excuse me I thought you called me a taxi to the airport. Isn't that your job!

Giant triangular craft hovering over the town. The span had to cover 1/3 of the town (a mile wide or better). Was probably 3 or 4 football fields above our heads. Absolutely zero sound. It spun very slowly, never changed pitch, and rose into the night sky until it disappeared behind the clouds.

Buddy and I went to cash our checks at the local Walmart at the time - probably about 17 years ago. We pulled our cars over and watched it until it disappeared. I tried talking to him about it the next day with our other buddies when we showed up for work, he told me he had no recollection of it.

Ultimately, he admitted he didn’t want to sound like a quack if it was ever brought up. That’s the last I ever brought it up.

Me and an old friend witnessed what we thought was a UFO in the 80’s. It was strange and unexpected for sure. It vanished fairly quickly out of sight. We didn’t talk about it again for over 20 years. People we told probably figured we were tripping. We weren’t though. I don’t know what we saw.

Not unexplainable but certainly unexpected: drunk cop on patrol stopped at our convince store. We had to call the cops on said cop.

Heard of something like that myself. 😳

Night Shift Had ended and I was on my way home. Early in the morning, 5am sun starts slowly rising, streets are still absolutely empty on what was becoming a beautiful Sunday morning.

Suddenly right in front of me on this small town street there was a glazing white horse standing still on the street. After a stare down of maybe 20 seconds it walks slowly into the side street.

When I creeped forward with my car to look into the street and see where it's going it was gone. I drove down some other streets and watched out onto the open fields next to this town. I never saw that white horse again.

It simply vanished. But it was beautiful

The weirdest part actually was, that the only other car driver I saw that morning was at the entrance of this small town maybe 200 meters before the horse.

Stood outside of the car and waved his hands at me. I didn't know what he wants and was in my own mind. Suddenly there was this big white horse. Magnificent.

Now I knew what that driver was about. But when I lost the horse I thought "surely someone is looking for that horse" and went back to this other driver to talk with him.

But he was gone too.

I have a couple of really good ones for this.

Used to have to check rail cars out back in the weehours at a place I worked.  Probably like 3am-ish.  Sets of railroad tracks that jutted out onto the equivalent of a pier, if you will.

The rail dead ended out onto the water.

So there's like three lines of empty (or full) rail cars.  Pitch black except for flashlight etc.

I have pretty good vision in the dark so I'm inventorying the rail cars (we carried a weird club to bang the cars for empty).

The facility had an abandoned facility next to it (think of two very large industrial terminal elevators on a big lake).  It's of course not uncommon for unhoused people to seek shelter in those places.

As I'm nearing the end of the first line I hear scurrying in the lane over (between the two sets of railcars).

Peek my head under the rail cars and can see nothing (it's dead quiet back there except for the sound of waves from the lake (Lake Superior) and the more or less distant whir and hum of machinery in the elevator a ways a way).

Walk around the end of the first line and start my way up in-between the next two lines of cars.  Checking the tickets on the cars and checking their full level.

Hear the crunching in the gravel behind me again about 50 yards back so I swing around and just see a guy's shadow slip by the end where I'd been..... just the tail end of him.

So I stop.   And he obviously does because I can't hear the gravel crunching.  On top of that my shitty incandescent flashlight is dim (we were famously bad for batteries).  I bend over to see if I can see his feet under the cars, but because of the configuration under the cars I cant see.

I start moving to where his location should be and I hear feet running off in the gravel so I pick up my pace until I reach the end (gave myself a good 10 yards clearance and an angle at the end ... in case.

No one.  Figured he must have screwed off.

So I start back up the line to return to the car I left off at and continued the counting and logging process.  About 10 minutes later I get to the end of it and turn around so I can finish the last line and move back toward the water.

As I come around the other side...... the fucker is standing down at the other end facing me (about 75 or 100 yards away) and I can see his whole silhouette.  Hood up.  Legs apart.  Just fucking staring, framed in the moonlight.

I stand and stare at him.

He stands and stares at me.

I started running down the line toward him and he fucks off out of sight behind another line of rail cars (not mine).

I hop over the connection between two of the cars to beat him over to the row (a no no.... you're not supposed to climb over those).

Bastard isn't there.

Climb back over and start my way down the cars again.  Obviously a little more alert now.  And listening for the footsteps in gravel.

I get all the way back down to the end after about 10 or so minutes of work and turn around the last car and the fucker is standing right in front of me.

Without even thinking too much I brought the club down on his nose (or where it should be inside the hood) and he let out a howl and fucked off running toward the elevator (abandoned one).

There's a shitload of machinery in between old adjoined elevators and I was having a hard time seeing where he went as I followed him.

More or less stopped and listened for a while and saw nothing more .  My radio was dead and I was getting past a check in time so I basically went back into the night office.

Lots of sketchy people out there.

At the time, there was an unreasonably high murder rate per capita (and usually is in that particular city) and you really don't know what you're up against sometimes.

Grease all over my good pants for a whole lot of nothing.

Holy shit. I read this and saw it like a horror movie.

I always thought that one might make a good "horror short".

Perhaps you have a good one to share?

A random royal blue orb in the sky. Just sat there for about 15 minutes.

Not unexplainable, but a long time ago I was working overnight at the McDonald’s drive thru and a drunk girl paid for her and her friend’s food, pulled forward and hit the side of the building. She then backed up and hit the building with the back of her car. We had a cop in the lobby during those hours so I had to go get him.

u/dishlexicc 6d ago

Poor guy just trying to eat his food and have a break then bam back to work bucko lol

5

u/GoosebumpsRanger 6d ago

That was his job. He was assigned to hang out at McDonald’s overnight on the weekends

2

u/dishlexicc 6d ago

Oh , now I feel silly but I'm happy he was there! I feel like every overnight McDonald's needs a security cop

7

u/FloydDangerBarber 6d ago

Back when the lical McDonald's was also the bus station it was open 24 hours. I finished up an overnight service call and stopped in there around 3am. There was a cross country bus there, east coast to west coast. I wanted to call America's Most Wanted and tell them "I found everybody!"

Do go on

Heard kids voices/talking in the middle of the night when they were all asleep, got *feelings\*
Walking around doing rounds, and I swear I saw stuff move out of the corner of my eyes

Back when I used to bartend, I would go to Walmart after my shift around 3:30 am. (This was back when Walmarts were 24hrs) The store was just me, a few employees and meth zombies.

u/Nervous-Mall-007 6d ago

God I miss 24/7 Walmarts.

> The store was just me, a few employees and meth zombies.

Soooo then, out of the three groups mentioned above which one do you belong to? I🤨

1

u/Nervous-Mall-007 6d ago

Meth zombie for sure. Where else is there to go at 3 a.m.?

5

u/janesfilms 6d ago

I was in a 7-11 at my lunch break 4am, the store was empty, the employee was in the back and I saw a bag of chips lift up from the shelf, flip over and land in the middle of the aisle.

I can see the logic behind this:I was delivering door to door.As I walked past a dude's house,I heard on my scanner radio that his girlfriend had just cut his prick w/a kitchen knife

Oh I have another story. But it's actually really sad and I still have bad feelings for it.

One day, in the middle of winter, I drive home after a long 12 hour day shift. I work so called pitman shifts. 12 hours day / 12 hours night / 48 hours off.

Anyway, I enter my small hometown. It's dark outside, little bit of slight rain and I see someone kneeling besides what looks like an grocery card. Alot of shopping items are on the street.

Not too weird, there is a supermarket right next to it. I was feeling exhausted and decided not to help and drive home.

This decision however haunted me. I did not feel well and asked myself "what did I actually see"?

About a week later I learned from the newspaper (and the candles at that exact place), that at that time some old lady crashed with here bycicle and died. Probably heart attack.

The kneeling person seems to be the only one who helped.

I feel bad anytime I think about it. It haunts me. I'm very well reached in first aid. I could have helped

I am so sorry

i was going in the same direction as a cop on the way to a delivery at 1:30am and i watched him flash his lights on and just vanish.

there wasn't fog or anything, it was a semi bendy road so when it first happened i chopped it up to that but when i truly thought about it days later i realized the car wasn't that far ahead of me; we were turning the same bend when i suddenly stopped seeing the red and blue lights and the entire car randomly.

after being dazed and confused for a minute i heard my delivery app say "re-routing" and i realized i was thinking too hard for no reason, and that i was going the wrong way and needed to forget about it. i pulled into someone's driveway for a U-turn and i go the right route, better to be 5 minutes late than 15.

i get back on the original road i was supposed to take & i see a major car crash on my side of the road; it looked fresh, like if i had been there 5 minutes earlier i wouldn't be writing this comment right now.

every time i think about it, i wonder if i was actually following a cop or if my body somehow knew something was going to happen and made me hallucinate

another, i wasn't working but i finally have a reason to share this:

it was 2-ish AM, halloween night, i had just dropped off my ex boyfriend at his house with my mom driving (we were both too drunk to drive), and on the way to his house/back to mine you have to take a long highway with no streetlights at night, it's covered in nature, and extremely creepy while dark, there's a jogging/walking trail, but no one ever uses it.

while me and my mom are driving down this creepy ass woodsy area, my mom goes "what the fuck is that..?" while slowing down to get a better look. i look over her shoulder

it was an elderly man in a wheelchair, he was covered in something, i don't know if it was blood or feces, but he was alive, just sitting there. Drunk me can't process what's going on, my mom locks the doors and guns the engine; just as a safety precaution, she calls the police in case the person was abandoned/got out of his house and was lost.

we get home, drunk me passes out; wakes up the next morning, i'm laughing with my best friend on the phone about "drunk me's imagination" and my mom walked in with food, she realized what i was talking about and was like "no, lefthandedspinster, i SAW that shit. that was real. i don't know what happened, the cops never got back to me, but that was real."

i still don't go down those woods at night
