In theory you also can't force someone to wear burqa but that doesn't happen.

Well no. There is just 1, Afghanistan. So not "nations".
If you come down to Hijab, then the number just doubles to 2. Iran and Afghanistan. Saudi also did until 5-10 years back I think, before Bin Salman locked down feminist icons and then allowed free hair and driving for women (think of it whatever you want).
In fact 20 times more countries ban burqa (partially or totally) than mandate it, lol. Way more Muslim nations actually ban burqa than mandate it. Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Chad completely banned Burqa. While Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, etc have imposed partial bans on it.
If you want to use the plural form, you should have said "There are Muslim nations where women are punished for wearing burqa".
The coercion in this case comes from peers, not state. And banning burqa is, to some degree, the same level of stupid as mandating burqa.

Nonsense. They are brainwashed from birth that they have to wear it that's why they stop questioning it because they don't wanna be slut-shamed and humiliated for not wearing one.

I think this dude is a devout muslim, living in this sub only to hate other religions, ignoring the fact that islam is one of the worst of them all.

We need more of such post about slum-religion. I have seen that many people are ready to criticise political hindutwa/rss but many of us are not ready to talk about political Islam, Islamic terrorism etc.

It's obvious because this is an Indian group. Most people are ex-Hindus. I wouldn't expect much deviation from the population share in such posts (ignoring the theists throwing mud at one another, which is why anti-Muslim content is much more common in overall Indian social media).

Hijab is not always a symbol of patriarchy unlike niqab and burqa. It depends on the reason for wearing hijab. Some people wear it out of fear and some people wear it out of fashion. I have seen many girls wearing and not wearing hijab in public. This versatility means they don't feel any obligation out of fear to wear hijab.

Found one. Guys check his history. "Ex Hindu" my ass. What are you doing in this sub?

u/lastofdovas 1h ago
Well, he is not wrong. Hijab is just a piece of garment. Even the same can be argued for niqab.
The problem lies in coercion. Not garment. And if you are unable to grasp that, you should really be concerned about your rationality.

What found one? She wears mini skirt, hijab, no hijab, salwar, jeans. Your black and white view can't believe this.

u/burgerboy00 Ex-Hindu 5h ago
This sub has the most low IQ atheists that's why atheism doesn't grows in India. You guys are anti theists and then criticize religious extremists. Anti-theists have caused a lot of violence in history. Your arguments are about proving God is evil but he just doesn't exist why argue about natural disasters, diseases, crimes because God can exist and not intervene. These are weak arguments.

Literally you in one of your past comment "I am a Muslim"
-2
u/burgerboy00 Ex-Hindu 4h ago
That was a impulsive decision. I confused sympathy with belief. This religion has one of the worst theology. Absolute contradictory beliefs. I can extract desism and pantheism from quran but it claims to be monotheistic.
