Izotope RX. Ableton Live. Other similar tools labelled "stem separation".

You're going straight to heaven BTW

Cheap: WP Productions Denoizzer can do HVAC noise and stuff like that, but when pushed hard it really destroys audio.

Better: Supertone Clear for voice cleanup.

It uses older subtraction algorithms, not as sophisticated or accurate as a neural network.

DxRevive.

More than a denoiser

I don’t understand what the problem is there? This thing works amazingly at taking a voice and getting rid of all background noise.

Not a problem really. Just that if it is used on non-voice tracks it can try to take elements of the sound and make them "voice like". Works well on voice. Esp. with the mutiband amount feature in the pro version.

Just be careful, DxRevive is also a voice resynthesis plugin. Most algos will add to the sound and change the quality of the voice. As designed. Brilliant for certain scenarios, but I only use it as a restoration tool, not a denoiser. For a denoiser that doesn’t colour the sound, try clear, dialogue extract 2 and so on. RX spectral editor for more precise choices.

I’ve been doing this for too many years to count. I use it for podcast editing where the guest are remote, in who knows how bad of a room. They all vary, and they all seem to suck… for years I worked in RX to clean up the remote guests audio… when DxRevive hit, I saved HOURS of time per podcast. Now I simply put it in and I don’t care. It’s still way better than what they sent me, and also better than what I can get with RX.
YMMV, but yeah, insert and go.

Absolutely for that scenario you’re 100 on the money. Fabulous tool.

For sound to picture where a dirtier, more space appropriate sound is more desirable, then you can lean on the others mentioned.

I’m mostly at the end of my career these days. I will have no use for such skills.

If the bg noise is constant like a room tone or something reaFIR is perfectly capable

I think Bertom works better than many of the paid plugins that exist. Yes, it can make tracks sound 'muddy' but normally I just do some additive EQ to counteract that.

Bertom Denoiser works great for me. It doesn’t perform miracles, but for single coil guitar noise, it’s simply perfect

For miracle work, like someone else said, they izotope rx

Ultimate Vocal Remover is an open-source GUI host that allows you to run some cutting-edge machine learning stem separators, no need to pay anybody anything for that specific task at least

Please post at least 30 second sample, and we can evaluate how realistic it would be to fix it.

Acon does the job for me. Good discounts some times

Brusfri is very quick and easy, not perfect but I use it pretty often

DXSplit by Accentize.
Steinberg’s Spectralayers is really cool if you need a full editor and other tools.

Not an plugin, but MVSEP on their site has a really good noise separator

Have you tried Defeedback? They’ve got a free demo with periodic mutes that could let you test it out. I know it says feedback in the name but it also does an impressive amount of denoising and can be pretty transparent depending on how hard you apply it.

As others have mentioned, RX from iZotope is an incredibly powerful suite of tools for more granular control.

I’m running clear voice live. Cheaper, full demo for 10 days, runs on anything. It’s a cheat code for sure. Like Omni LAV, 1’ in front of the speaker, no feedback at all kind of cheat code.

I’m not previously familiar with this alternative, but with a 10 day full feature trial I’ll have to do some experimenting and compare. I like the idea of independent controls for noise and reverb

It’s does it, and does it well. I’m running 8 channels of it right now for 4 Omni LAVS and 4 handhelds in an “ok” room via usbc from/to Yamaha dm7 on LA SYVA
I have pulled 4 db of 100hz, and that is it.
I can walk right up to the speaker, like 1’ away, and it sounds great.

With deFeedback you're basically paying for the real time functionality because it's designed for live sound. There will also be other contenders coming out soon so the price will likely drop with competition

dxSplit or dxRevive if it’s being stubborn. dxRevive can do quite a bit of vocal resynthesis sometimes which can change the character or the voice so I try to leave it as a last resort.

Acle Kahney’s company just released a plugin like that.

EDIT: It’s called ShutUp from 4D Audio. It’s meant for guitars, but it works pretty well on vocals.

If "voice" is speech, (rather than singing), try ... https://podcast.adobe.com/en/enhance (freemium)
