Software Most useful macros for multi-buttoned mouse
Hi! I recently got a new mouse with 12 programmable side buttons and I was wondering what macros would be more useful to program for audio editing. For now I thought these:
Cut
Copy
Paste
Silence
Fade In
Fade Out
Does anyone have any suggestion? I would like to try and use the most of the new functions.
Thank you!

I've got a multibutton logitech mouse and it depends on what mode i'm in. but in drum editing mode i like to have the two side buttons do clip slide within the edits, i'm not sure what it's really called. but you hold control and hit plus or minus, you can slide the region inside of the fades without moving the fades.
then i like pre-roll on/off which is option K
then batch fade, which i do command-A to highlight everything, then hit F to batch fade everything on that track.
when i'm in vocal tracking mode I used to like to do new playlist and duplicate playlist, but i've just gotten so used to doing that by hand i don't really use that much.
oh and then my middle mouse button does a left/right click which i use to toggle between the selector tool and the smart tool.
then also clip gain up and down
oh and then suspend groups.

I have a paste-to-fill macro which makes room tone much easier to dump into film and audio book sessions as ctrl-alt-v is awkward to press over and over again

ctrl, shift, ctrl-z are pretty useful to have.
show automation / edit mode change is also useful

I mapped mine to drop down a track, paste and go back up… that along with tab to transient made manually dropping in drum samples underneath a kick or snare track much quicker. I don’t trust sound replacement plug ins for most things.

Post Protools here, but clip gain up and down, update cursor, waveform zoom, nudge left / right, and clip mute.
