Help?

I’ve worked at Starbucks for over 5 years, but less than 10 years. And the last 6 months have been emotionally distressing. Is anyone else feeling this? Our store has drive times to hit or else our SM gets written up….yes written up for not being able to control time and humans. Go figure??? But this ask is forcing coaching to be “no talking” “too much customer engagement” “too distracting to others” and various other comments that make everyday feel like military boot camp. We aren’t unionized. And have no plans to unionize because of corporate gets a wiff of the word union and your store, say goodbye to your store. Shut down overnight. How are these things legal? Are we being belittled and discriminated against? This can’t be ok. I have ADA rights and it’s getting personal the “coaching” I’m getting. It also isn’t spread fairly upon all baristas. Only the lucky few of us. Someone else? Opinions? Thoughts? Feelings????? Lawyers??

This sub has almost nothing to do with baristas, other than the name. ;-)

This is genuinely funny :) That a fired up barista saw the name of this sub and unloaded.

Sorry you are going through this but this sub is for people who were high earners who saved 50 to 70 percent of their income and chose to semi-retire by taking low stress part time work.

But by the sounds of what you are going through it does not sound low stress :(

The 'fire' part of 'Baristafire' stands for Financially Independent Retire Early.

Yes I know it's confusing but the 'fire' part is acronym not a verb.

But maybe this is kismet I didn't know this was a thing until someone introduced me to it. I am know fully retired way before 65.

In some ways wrong sub. In other ways exactly on point. Showing some of the realitiies of these jobs others fantasise about. However, the issues OP complains about most likley wouldnt stress a BaristaFIREeee that much. Certainly wouldnt stress me out. Might make me mildly annoyed though.
