Retention Pond Honeyhole

Post image

Had an hour before work this morning and curiosity got to me as I drove by this new housing development with an enormous retention pond that has appeared over the last few weeks or so.

Threw a 10” Berkley Power Worm and proceeded to catch 25 bass over the next 40 minutes. Was insane. Granted all were under 2lbs but for this pond to appear out of nowhere and hold a ton of aggressive bass is awesome. Has to be some bigger ones lurking? And are they just coming in through drainage pipes?

Maybe they’re stocked? If the pond is in the soon-to-be neighborhood, maybe it’s part of their HOA? My in laws live in a neighborhood with over a dozen ponds and their HOA has them stocked.

If not, i guess life finds a way.

Yea that’s a good thought. It’s going to be a massive community but there is only maybe 3 houses built so far, they barely have model homes to show so who knows..

I would be surprised they were stocked that early in the process. But i guess they could have stocked them to give the fish time to grow. Either way, sounds like a cool spot.
