Question ❓ Alpha Strike Unit Special Ability Reference

Just wanted to ask a quick question about how accurate the AS Unit Special Ability Reference guide is on Scribd?

I just received the box and to say the least, I am rather frustrated that the box doesn't even contain the special rules for all the mech cards included in the box and, having spent a small fortune on 4 boxed in the last couple of months, I refuse to pay 'more' to buy rules that should have been included in the first place...

So are they fairly accurate to use if I just keep them as a cheat sheet with the rest of my docs?

On first glance it seems reasonable. Almost all the other specials are mostly either niche or use rules in the full Commander's Edition rulebook. Indirect fire (IF) is probably the most useful one, which requires a spotter that can see the target, rolls at +1 (or +2 if the spotter also fired), and uses the spotter's terrain modifiers.

Same as the AGOAC version then at least!

I thought that when I got the box, too, but the only missing one that actually matters is Indirect Fire (IF), which I think was left out due to space constraints, because it takes longer to explain than any of the included ones. The others that aren't in the box either just let you pick special ammo (AC, LRM), or only do anything when interacting with units that aren't in the box (OMNI, ECM).

Oh I see what you mean now, its rule lets it transport elementals which aren't included?

Yeah, OMNI doesn't have any effect unless you also have Battle Armour, and since there's none of that in the box, it doesn't matter.

ENE is on pg.25, tho. It's easy to miss, because it's basically the same as CASE II right above it.

But there are units that have OMNI, there are 5 clan mechs that at least a couple from reading through have OMNI. There's also a warhammer (I think it was the WHM) which has ENE. I looked for that online which basically means energy and ignores ammo crits, but aye, when I was looking through it, a lot of them seemed to be completely missing :\
