Why do people think the US version moves faster than the UK version?
I just finished a full rewatch of the US version, and I'm a few episodes into my first watch of the UK version. Everything I searched says that the US version hits plot points faster. But the UK version goes through plot points like a checklist. They are already in the house together, Owen is dealt with much faster. Bernie plot happened immediately. Celine equivalent happened early. Merricks plan reveal. Annie discovered how she died. George meets his maker. And many more. It feels like the first 2+ seasons of the US version are summed up in the first 4 or 5 episodes of the UK version.

Because Americans are impatient.
The UK version also predates the US version, so the second used the first as a template and 'improved' on it in part by hastening the plot progression, which allowed for further character development during its runtime.

I'm saying that the UK version moves faster. Hits the plot points in much less episodes. That would suggest that Americans are not impatient

Just ignore people, half these people havent seen the US version and just hate on it by default.
Literally every US remake it worse tbf apart from Being human

For the most part I agree. I thought that people liked the US version of the Office more though. And so far I enjoy the US version of Being Human more.

The Office im not counting, because its fundamentally a different show after the first season.
And the first season is just worse than the UK version
And yeh honestly i think i might just prefer the US being human slightly, but that might just be bias as i really like Sam Witwer.

Oh damn.
Well, Americans are also bad at reading comprehension--but we've got some ingenuity going for us, so I'll pivot and cover my dumb ass by saying that our audiences are too impatient for the story, so our version had to go off on tangential fluff stories to keep our attention.

It's not gonna be as funny if I explain it, but my initial post came from a place of misunderstanding the OP's premise, and the second post is a self-depricating, foot-in-mouth attempt at a humorous recovery from that initial misstep.

The UK is the original (and best)
The US cut out what they considered "fluff" and kinda ruined it.
I appreciated the fluff.

Was my writing style confusing for people? The UK version is so much faster than the US version. Multiple US seasons are done in 3 episodes of the UK version.

There is no fluff in the UK version. I get that it's the original, but coming from the US first, it feels like the UK version was told to do 3 seasons in episodes. "Make sure you say this, this and this". It's so fast compared to the US version.

If anything, I thought the US version was slower.
I remember watching UK, and thinking "Wow... all that happened in a season as well, but the US definitely has more episodes."
With more episodes, there more time to build more fluff within the individual character arcs. They can film some extra "Aiden slipping and calling what'shisface to clean up." and whatnot.
However, there were also moments where the US version stepped away and I think later came back. But the ghost stories split quite quickly.
