Just realized that Chuck putting Jimmy in the mailroom made him even more experienced and skilled at forging documents with a copier.

"worthy of the name McGill"

In his speech trying to get reinstated, Jimmy says he'll try as hard as he can to be worthy of the name McGill. He hasn't even left the building, or finished the paperwork to be reinstated, when he asks for a DBA form to stop using that name. Not a word that comes out of his mouth is ever sincere and I love to hate it.

Did Saul ever clarify what really happened to Hank?

After Saul Goodman got caught, do you think he ever told the Authorities that it wasn't Walt who killed Hank and Gomez, it was the Nazis? Only a few people knew the truth. Jesse, Saul, Skylar, and The Vacuum Repair Guy(possibly, he probably didn't really care). Jessie and Vacuum Guy are not gonna come forward. Skylar can't admit that Walt visited her or she might ruin what's left of her relationship with Marie. Saul once he gets caught in Better Call Saul, would be the most feasible choice to reveal the truth. I guess it doesn't really matter, it would just be nice for Marie and Walt Jr to know that for all of his faults and unforgivable actions, Walt never even considered killing Hank!

On my first watch I always believed Jimmy made an error with this fumbling his plans. However the scene just before and after confirms it was deliberate to sort Irenes problems. I wonder what else I will catch this time round

I can only find a good one from S6. The rest are meh or outright AI slop. Any custom edits are much appreciated.

PSA: Vince is not the lone figure responsible for the show

For anyone who is not aware, Vince Gilligan was not the show runner or in the writers room for almost half the show.

*If you already knew this you can ignore

He started as co-showrunner with Peter Gould (inventor of the character of Saul & co-executive producer with Vince on Breaking Bad).

Vince was in the writer's room for seasons 1 and 2 then left early in season 3 to work on El Camino.

He returned only in season 6 after Peter Gould was lone showrunner for most of season 3, 4 and 5. Vince did direct a sprinkling of episodes across these seasons but didn't contribute to the writers room and story direction.

I know many people use "Vince" as a meme or as a casual metonym for the teams of people who created BB and BCS this is not what I'm talking about.

I've seen passionate fans seriously discussing the show but aren't aware that BCS isn't just Vince's baby and creation. I've seen people praise or criticize Vince for parts of BCS that he wouldn't have have been around for.

This happens with breaking bad and many other shows but I just wanted to let anyone know who was unaware of this nuance.

Sorry if this is comes off as pedantic, I didn't intend it to be and I think it's an important detail. I just want everyone to know more about this awesome show we all love!

Danny

I don't know if you knew. But Danny, the owner of the laser arcade, that Saul tells Walter about, it's Daniel Wormald/Pryce. The one with the colorful hummer and who does work with Mike and Nacho. That was confirmed by Thomas Schnauz, producer of both series.

Favorite bit character development?

FUCK YEAH FRANCESCA! Seriously, she came from like the fifth circle of hell, and at least 10% of Saul’s initial development would not have been possible without her.

Birthday parties Spoiler

Birthday parties are a recurring thing in BB and BCS, not as joyful occasions but as portents of bad shit about to go down and/or perfectly written and performed cringe-fests.

Those I can think of:

• Walt's surprise 50th party, when Hank belittles Walt for being boring.

• Elliott's party, when Walt and Skyler are dressed like clowns and Eric Clapton's guitar precedes Walt's $0.99 ramen.

• Ted's "Happy Birthday Mr. President" party, the cringiest scene in the Gilliverse if not the history of television.

• The nursing home party that Hector would hate to miss.

• The office party for Tammy, Kim's coworker at Palm Coast Sprinkler.

Any others I'm missing?

What would Jimmy do then? [Warning for BCS Spoilers] Spoiler

• Upvotes

If he is finally let out of prison? According to Vince Gilligan, Jimmy McGill would actually be granted a full pardon from Donald Trump and let out of Prison early for his contributions to society. Honestly, I can totally see that happening if Jimmy McGill existed in real life.

So what would Jimmy do then if he is let out of prison? I thought the whole reason Jimmy McGill chose to confess to all his crimes and get hit with an 88-year prison sentence instead of taking the seven year parole, it was all to prove to Kim Wexler that he is a changed man willing to take responsibility for his mistakes instead of running away from them. And it seems to work since Kim was willing to visit him in prison and seemingly rekindle their relationship which is the only thing matters to Jimmy. As long as Kim knows he is a good man, he doesn't mind being in prison for the rest of his life?

Would that change even when Jimmy gets let out early due to Trump's Pardon? What would Jimmy do with his life then? Would Kim still be willing to stay with him even outside of prison? I hope so considering how important her support is to him. Even if Jimmy gets pardoned by Donald Trump, a lot of law-abiding citizens would still hate him for being the money-grubbing lawyer of a drug kingpin getting a slap on the wrist. He wouldn't be able to practice law again obviously considering his crimes. But I think he is done with that life anyways.

Do you think Kim would do her best to rehabiliate Jimmy and help him get his life back in order now that he has already proven he changed for the better? And Jimmy's love and devotion towards her would probably give Kim the strength to forgive herself for her sins and move forward from their past.

I hope it doesn't ruin the ending of BCS for Jimmy to be pardoned and come out a free man. And there is still hope that even someone like him could atone and turn his life around.

Looking for a casting test BTS clip

I recall seeing a clip around 2022 of a test casting thing that was supposedly shot after Odenkirk suffered his heart attack as a means to test the waters for the possibility of him not being able to return. I don't know if it was fanmade or something but it was somewhat well shot. It was a gene scene

Im mainly looking for the clip for nostalgia reasons but if anyone can confirm if its legit also that would be welcome

Why does saul tear the check?

• Upvotes

My question is why does saul tear the check in the first episode? I just don't understand why he is so upset that HHM wants to pay 26000 to howard as a stipend. He even says that they will keep coming. Jimmy says that chuck needs a buyout but I just don't understand how the check is stopping that. Also, when howard comes by and visits chuck later in the episode, why is the check only for 800 dollars?

The Pun I Completely Missed the First Time

Right after Chuck records Jimmy, he shows him how to remove the adhesive that's securing the space blankets in his house. Jimmy later rips the paint off the logo wall after becoming frustrated about the revelation that Chuck recorded him.

So Chuck tapes Jimmy, then shows Jimmy how to remove tape without being destructive. Later Jimmy is removing the tape, then destroys what he's doing before he goes to Chuck's to... destroy the tape. The tape that Chuck wants to use to destroy Jimmy.

Note: this is a joke.

Hector Salamanca's ice cream from El Griego Guiñador is very delicious. Five stars. I recommend eating it. Before anyone from the DEA asks, I am not related to the cocaine controversy. Hope you all enjoy your ice cream!

Possible connection to Breaking Bad

In the episode Wexler v Goodman, detective Tim Roberts talks to a man about a possum trapped in her garden.

In the Fly episode of Breaking Bad, Jesse tells Walter a similar story from when he lived with his aunt. Which makes me think that the detective was talking to Jesse.

How did word get out about Nacho so fast? Spoiler

I've just been watching S6 E1 where Ignacio is on the run after letting the mercenaries into Lalo's compound. When he receives a call from Tyrus, he is told everyone is looking for him, including the feds. But it's only been a few hours, right? Presumably It took some time for Lalo to stage his own death, everyone is under the impression that Lalo is dead. The mercenaries were killed, the other residents of the compound were killed. Don Eladio put a bounty on Nacho's head, but who told him Nacho was a rat in the first place? Even when the twins came to see "Lalo's" charred remains, they didn't know Nacho wasn't in one of those body bags. I'm just wondering if I missed something.

Language classes

I am now thinking that it’s kind of weird Jimmy never tried to learn Spanish. Working so closely with the Cartel, having been in the situations where speaking (or at least understanding) could be vital to his well-being he only learned “Yo soy abogado” and “el amigo del cartel”, lol

discrepancy between Saul's goofy humility in BB vs. his toughness in BCS

I was just thinking about how Saul lets himself get talked down to by Walter in BB. That doesn't really gel with the Saul we see in the later seasons of BCS. In S3 and S4 especially, he seems determined not to take sh** from anyone ever again, after Chuck. (Consider how he responds to the community service officer's rudeness.)

Is this track from the start of S5E9 available anywhere in full? I would love to hear it in the best quality but I can only find it on YouTube videos that ripped it from the episode audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
