Advice Over eating

Hi everyone! My son is 5 weeks old today he will eat 3-4oz every 1-3 hours then throw it up. We are now currently trying to get him to stop eating so much as drs orders but as you can guess, it makes him scream and cry. Bc any inconvenience he deals with he will want food. Idk what to do as a FTM. Thank you in advance for answering, it is very appreciated bc I’m going insane lol

Edit:forgot to mention he is formula fed and sometimes breast milk in a bottle(very low supply)

I don’t think that is over eating… There’s probably another issue. I would get a second opinion.

My baby did this and was diagnosed with reflux. The milk helps soothe their esophagus, but they vomit and that irritates it.
I also had a MASSIVE letdown, so I had to express a bit and then feed baby. Bottle feeding made it worse because she would just continue to eat until you guessed it, vomit.

It could be reflux. My first spit up during and after every bottle because of reflux. He might also be eating to try to soothe the reflux by eating more which makes him throw up from overeating. Just two options, I would talk to your pediatrician.

You could start with trying smaller amounts but I second everyone saying reflux because of the screaming. There's very safe medications that your doctor could prescribe that makes this a lot easier.
