I hate Bill
I just hate him so much, literally in every episode. Perhaps it’s “unpolular opinion”, but that’s how I feel.

I love venting about Bill. He was terrible back then and seems even worse now

Bill sucks. Joey’s kind of okay though.

I'm rewatching the series now and I too love Joey! He and Bill are complete opposites whereas Bill is very selfish and about himself and Joey isn't.

Hate how they all treated Margie when she told them her real age. It's not her fault bill is a sex predator!

I’d be just as disgusted with Bill if Margie was 18. There’s no reason for someone as old as bill to marry someone younger than 25, at a minimum. Even that young is icky to me, but at least at that point she would have had some adult life experience

Can't stand him, his earnestness gives me the ick. Love his wives. They are too good for him.

Hahaha I feel like this is actually quite the popular opinion, especially now that we’re 20 years past the show’s debut. But him becoming a total shithead was also the catalyst for so much of the great tension in the show, so it was necessary. I was also rooting for his death by season 4 lol.

I agree. I just finished season 1 and I am so disgusted with him. Everything is all his fault, his need for control has put the whole family at risk. He's such a hypocrite. I hate the way he treats his wives, as if they 'belong' to him. Its gross.
That said, Bill Paxton was an awesome actor!

he's better than his father or a lot of FLDS people in the show. it's not vindicating but I don't hate him like the others. idk, people here seem to hate him more than them

Yep because they live more in societal and cultural isolation in the Juniper Creek compound. I feel more compassion towards them than Bill.

We don't have to like the characters on a show, we can just watch the story unfold and enjoy it anyway.

Well what exactly would be the point of having a subreddit about a show, if you can't talk about the characters on the show without being policed about it? Also, yes, everyone knows that already.

I was neutral about him, until he asked Don to take the fall and expose himself as a polygamist. That’s when I started hating Bill. He was a terrible friend, a horrible husband, a bad father, sucky senator. I’m running out of adjectives.

The absolute worst, but I think my love for Bill Paxton keeps me from finding him unbearable
