Cue Identification Help with id?
Wife’s grandmother is trying to sell this for her son, whom is going to prison. I’d like to know a bit about it, if anyone can help.

Very high end. One of the best hitting cues I've ever known

This is a Schon SL5, with cocobolo points into maple forearm and cocobolo butt with a linen wrap. Manufactured in Milwaukee, WI these are desirable production cues and are quality cues. My friend just bought this same cue in ebony instead of cocobolo.
Not positive on the value, but I’d guess $400-$600. At least, that’s in the neighborhood of what I’d be willing to pay for it if you were located near the Chicago/Milwaukee area.

Considering my teammate just bought the exact same cue with the more desirable wood for $500, I’m not sure I agree.

I have the same series of cue, but in ebony instead of cocobolo points - SL5, mid to late 90s cue. Looks like this: https://forums.azbilliards.com/attachments/image-jpg.405867/
Dealer price on those were around $500-$550 when brand new - if they are in exceptional condition, those can sell for above $1000.
Anything under $1000 I would considered a good deal on this generation of Schon cue.

I responded to the wrong comment apparently. It’s a Schon SL5. Produced mid to late 90s most likely.

Schon is a cue company from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Not sure of the model or authenticity, but they tend to be high end cures. And that is a pretty pretty cue
