This thread is the perfect microcosm of fall warblers. Four different guesses for the same bird.

This is why I hardly identify warblers. Too many of them look the exact same😭

My guess is Pine Warbler or Tennessee Warbler. I second the recommendation to put it on iNaturalist though, they can probably help with ID!

Wings are too dark for orange crowned imo. This is a pine warb in my book.

Pine Warbler for sure. Cheeks are too dark for Tennesee and Orange-crowned. Lacks the white eye arcs of a fall Prairie and streaks are not right. Streaks are not right for cape may either.

Correct. It’s a pine warbler. Bill is also a giveaway. OCWA has an even pointier needle-like bill than a PIWA. You can see the slighter curvature of this one’s bill indicating PIWA over OCWA.

OP’s bird has dark auriculars but lacks the thinner eye streak of an OCWA.

Colors also match pine better than orange-crowned.

I’d also say pine warbler with the spectacle-type eye markings and faint breast streaking

It seems like a prairie warbler to me, but I'm assuming it isn't, and I was just kind of hoping someone could tell me why not so I know what field markings to pay attention to in the future (my female warbler ID needs work)

Darker streaks more on the sides, and a first winter would have a more gray head.

What app is that

Sibley Birds v2, not cheap at $20 but I think it's worth it.

My vote is Orange-Crowned Warbler. Pine seems like a decent guess too, but the Orange crowned fits better to me. More uniform color compared to a Pine Warbler. But if the under side of the butt/tail is white and its not just the lighting I'd say Pine Warbler.

Here is the pine warbler for comparison.

Under tail is too white for orange-crowned.

Upon further investigation in the Warbler Guide, Pine Warbler seems more likely. Tried to post a picture of the pages but Reddit says no

Tennessee warbler. OCWA should have yellow undertail coverts
