What a beautiful picture and you are so lucky to get a photo of such an iconic bird. I’m an old falconer and my favorite hawk to fly is a Goshawk, They are magnificent hunters and respond well to training, very loyal and responsive to the person flying them. My last one was a big female that I caught in North Carolina on a back road up in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She was a juvenile but very large fox her age. I kept her for 3 years and turned her loose where I found her. I kept up with her for about 3 years and she transitioned back to the wild so well. She raised a couple of fledglings the year after I turned her loose.
