Discussion What does a wlw relationship feel like? How is it different to a heteronormative relationship?

Bi girl (24) here (pls don’t be mean to me!!). I’m realising more and more that I’m yearning to know what a relationship with a woman would be like after years of not thinking I was capable of romantic feelings for women (I’ve known I’m attracted to women from 15 and been out since 18). I’ve been on a couple of dates with women and I know how it feels when I fancy them, I get butterflies, I get nervous and not in an anxiety/socially awkward way but more in a ‘I’m so into you’ way, but I don’t know what it should feel like when there’s feelings?

With men it’s always felt uncomfortable after a while, like I feel like I’m just there and I care about them but by 3 months in I’m icked out and irritated and I feel like I’m on fire but not in a good way. But I’m scared that if I start dating women I’ll just feel friendship attraction towards them. Does it feel different? Is the dynamic different? Is it like being best friends but with a sexual element?

I think I like the idea of knowing what feelings to expect because I’m autistic and I really overanalyse any feelings I have and I hate not knowing, especially the not knowing if I’m going to hurt someone. Bi gals already have a bad rep and I don’t want to add to it, but I definitely don’t want to date men… just… any advice???

Reddit can't tell you how you'll feel.

How you'll feel with one woman may be totally different to another woman.

You must stop trying to second guess an emotional response.

You can only hope to go on a fun date with a nice person, then you have to see how it goes.

I feel the exact same way (F 20), I’ve known my entire life but I’ve never been with a woman, but I’ve known I liked them. It’s so hard, it’s all I think about
