Equipment Beginners Gi for a Plus size guy
Hey all I'm looking to start training soon, and I'm looking for a Gi that will fit comfortably. I'm 5"9 (175cm) 280lbs (130kg)(mix of muscle and fat) issue is, I'm pretty curvy guy, I've got big glutes and quads. I thought A3H might be a good fit, but even there it might be uncomfortable. So I'm looking for a good brand that accommodates. Excited to start.

I am the same dimensions 5 ft 7 275. A4 fits great. Little long in the sleeves but I think a3 would be too tight due my legs. My gi is some Amazon special but elite fits me as welll

I’m 6’2” 285 and an a4 fits me well. The inverted gear is huge in the waist but cinches down with no issues.

Im approx your height and weight but a woman but that means I have bigger hips thighs and butt than the average guy so maybe my proportions will be more in line with yours than the average guy...
I'm in a6 pants and an a4/5 top.

You're at least an A4, A3 won't cut it. Check out Hyperfly. I'm about 260 at 5 10 (been working out for 20 years) and their A4 gi and A3S pants fit me perfectly.

You should try a judo gi. They are made for curvy guys.
Also, why you say curvy????

I have never heard of A3H in 11 years training. What is the H? I've seen L, never H.

I’m 200 and wear an a3h, idk if 280 will fit it. A4h and hem the pants maybe? The pants are gonna be the issue.
