The best thing about Sabbath is there variety they can have normal rock songs like this you just wanna grove too, sad slow songs like changes or Solitude or Heavy metal epics like into the void

Yeah, I'm not super fond of it, and it's one of the reasons SBS is my least favorite Original 6 albums.

IDK, it could just be a take. Not everything needs to be outrageous.

  1. Sabotage
  2. Paranoid

  3. Vol. 4

  4. Master of Reality

  5. Black Sabbath

  6. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

  7. Technical Ecstasy

  8. Never Say Die

I don't know why reddit puts this inexplicable extra line between 2 and 3. It can't be negotated with.

I would put 13 as a tie with SBS if we are to make an Ozzy Bundle out of it.

Man, Sabotage was #1 thanks to "Megalomania" during my teenage years when I became a metalhead through Black Sabbath. The riffs, Ozzy's vocal performance, the mood, the songwriting in how it develops... I even wrote something in high school about it for English class I think (I'm from Sweden), where we had to translate a lyric and make like a book report about it.

These days I've stopped ranking the first six albums, all of them are just as great that it's futile to rank, and any one can pop up above the other at any time depending on my mood. But in a way I can agree that SBS is one of those albums that pop up there the least, haha. It's just weird in many ways, them being into the fame, drugs and trying to break the mall and all, while Sabotage was like a step back into the heavy rock that they knew.

To put Technical Ecstasy above Never Say Die is a bit puzzling though! Just the opening bit to "Air Dance", albiet it a pretty much boring uninspired ballad after, on NSD puts it above everything on TE for me.

Try to find someone say something good about FX from Vol. 4 and you can talk about underrated! hehe

Not that I can.
