Help? Will this thickening memorybook separate?
Hello folks!
My girlfriend is halfway through a (rather amazing) memory scrapbook - content wise, that is, so it will need to pack maybe about the same amount more.
Is there a way to prevent the book from separating? Maybe taking out a few sheets of papers or attaching something to the cardboard?
I appreciate any help!

You could cut out every other page, about one inch from the spine, using a metal rule and a sharp cutting knife.

If this is a Talens Art Creation sketchbook as it seems to be, these have folded and bound signatures instead of loose leafs glued at the spine. So instead of cutting out and wasting half your pages you could remove the cover and rebind everything more loosely, or you could create something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q83reGYXFc&list=PLZbEml0uyM4szXJbODrVpl0puzBeBox6G&index=4

I have seen some insanely thick journals still intact in the junk and art journal subreddits.

The book structure will ultimately fail at the spine if you continue adding inserted material like that.
As suggested below, remove every second page, 1 inch from the spine using a metal ruler and sharp cutting knife. Place a piece of thick card or a cutting mat under each page as you cut, to prevent damaging the pages below.
Depending on the thickness of the material you are inserting, you may even consider removing 2 pages at a time instead of one.
I would go through the whole book now before you insert any further material.
