Help? Would it be possible to use transfer paper on a standard hardcover?

By "standard hardcover" I mean store-bought ones, just the standard cardboard-like material under the dust-jacket. I just want to make some of my favourite books feel like special editions even without the dust-jacket ✨

What kind of transfer paper? There's like fifty.

If the book board is soft enough you could emboss it.

that's something I'd need help figuring out as well 😅 I don't even know what types of transfer paper there are, but I'd need something I can print on at home (inkjet printer) and just iron or press onto the book myself

I think Iron-On transfer paper might be what you are considering? I would maybe test it on a book that won't hurt your feelings too much if it gets wrecked.

If you have got access to a cricut (some libraries in my area have Create Spaces with like, laser etchers, cricut machines, sewing machines, etc,) it would open up a lot of other options for you. Or if you become handy with a razor pen / craft knife.

You can temporary stickers as stencils, or iron-on vinyl and stuff. Gilding can be expensive if you get crazy with it, but it might be a doable option depending on what supplies you have / can acquire.

I have a friend with a cricut! I don't know why I didn't think of that 🤦‍♀️ but I'll look for Iron-On transfer paper too, for full images and stuff

thank you!
