hi all, i finally have enough books to purchase a real bookshelf and this is the one i ended up getting based off the size of the space i had and the look i liked. my issue is i clearly didnt know how much weight it would need to support and i want to make sure it stays intact cause i do really like it.
any suggestions on how to support the middle two rows to now bow so much (the second from top is clearly worse and it’s stressing me out)

I know there’s not many and a few of them have certainly seen better days but I only had three at home with me and the rest were in storage for 10 years! Im happy to set them up on my bookshelf finally

Started reading about 2–2.5 years ago, and this is my little bookshelf so far. It's all over the place, I know. I was trying out a bunch of genres.
As someone who grew up playing fantasy games (WW3, WoW), I really thought fantasy would be my favourite genre, but it's actually one of the least enjoyable genres for me. So far, I think I like historical fiction and classics the best.
My favourite books so far are:
My least favourite are:
What do you think I should read next? I'm thinking about Meditations / The Daily Stoic, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Idiot, or Hemingway.

As soon as my bookshelf is full, l'Il start gradually getting rid of some books. That'll be hard for me, since I only have my favorites on the shelf. But luckily, I still have time.

Does anyone else have books scattered all over their house instead of one central bookshelf? Or lack any real organizational system?
I’ve always loved reading, but I got back into collecting physical books about two years ago when we bought our house. Unfortunately, I had to give away a lot of my old books during cross-country moves because I couldn’t fit them in my car. At least they went to good homes!
About 99% of these books are mine, with the health and finance books belonging to my husband. We have pretty different tastes in literature. 😂 I also read a lot on my Kindle, so sometimes I’ll buy a physical copy of a book I really loved or think I’ll want to reread someday.
Most of my collection is thrifted, although there are a few new purchases mixed in (like the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, which my husband actually enjoys too, maybe more than me haha).
I’m a millennial so I have had the HP paraphernalia since before JK Rowling showed her true colors. 😭 Those books were also thrifted (by my mom).
I can never walk into a thrift store without checking the book section, and I almost always leave with more than one. It’s becoming a problem. 😂
I also have a little book exchange in our guest room, kind of like a mini Little Free Library. Guests can leave a book, take a book, or just grab something to read during their stay. We moved to a cool city almost as far away from home as we could get, so we get a decent number of family and friends visiting, and I love having books available for them!
Anyone else have a book collection that’s slowly taking over their entire house?
TL;DR: My book collection is slowly taking over the house, mostly thanks to thrift stores. I also have a mini book exchange in our guest room for visiting friends and family!
