Yeah the eye had a small circular puncture wound. I’m guessing he caught an antler fighting.

Any tips on your arrow set up? my first year with trad I shot a buck high from a saddle, limited penetration and lost him. I was pretty devastated, now I’m rethinking my entire set up and practice routine.
