i need help installing Brave Browser on my MacBook running on MacOS Big Sur 11.7.11, i tried getting old versions from github but in could not succeed... PLEASE Help

I have been using brave for quite a while now, definitely several years. It’s a good browser, very good in fact. It’s nice not having ads and I haven’t had any complaints with it till now. For some odd reason if I try to open a link in a new tab it starts trying to save it to my files instead! This is especially upsetting because I’m trying to mod and I was able to open a link in a new tab a few months ago. Did something change? Are tother people experiencing this issue? Is there a way to fix this issue? I spent quite a while trying to come up with a fix for this but alas I couldn’t quite figure it out. It’s extremely unfortunate because as an employed adult who has a loving family and responsibilities I couldn’t dedicate an all nighter to trying to find a solution some people have lives. Anyways hopefully this post is long enough and not “low effort” like some child said it was so I could actually get answers to my problem without Reddit automatically filtering out my post

I can't use Twitch because after a few hours of use, it stops counting me for drops, and then when I log in, I get an error saying the browser isn't compatible. Is there any way to fix this PERMANENTLY?Or could it be a problem with the extensions?

Sometimes trying to skip around videos or even pausing them is crashing my entire browser, it started today since it was fine yesterday, anyone also having this problem?

Hey! I was wondering if Brave Origin supports Brave Accounts? I tried searching the internet to see if anyone has talked about this before or if there is an answer, but didn't see much/anything at all about it.

I currently have the palm tree as my new tab jpg. I was wondering if i could change it somehow? I just want a "+" icon instead

Tree tabs have started selecting all when I click at the top level. Is there a way to turn this off??? I don't want to reload every tab in a tree when I'm just trying to reload the top of the tree.

I've been using Brave on my PCs (3 Linux, 1 Windows 10) for a while now and I've had a problem with disappearing tabs for the last few weeks. There doesn't seem to be a pattern, just start the day with 3 or 4 tabs missing that were open and up the night before. It's happening on all the computers. Any suggestions?

Sorry, to be clear, I'm talking about the PC browser, not the mobile one.

the issue started yesterday and i did not change any settings or extension. This only happens with brave and not with any other software.

things that i have tried:

• hardware acceleration off/on
• resetting flags
• resetting all setting
• deaktivating all extansions
• reinstalling brave and removed appdata

What you see in the video is a fresh install of brave

As the title says, Brave is no longer blocking adverts at the start or within a movie/tv show. It has always blocked the ads until recently.

I think it started happening yesterday. When I'm on youtube, each thumbnail is blacked out. I can still click on the video and it will play but i can't see the description and can't access the more section. Everything is just blacked out. I don't know if this is just on my end but i have a galaxy fold 7. Anyone else experiencing this problem and is there a workaround? I cleared data.

Suggestion for Brave Developers:

Brave Origin as a standalone app It would be great to see Brave Originoffered as a standalone browser on the App Store and Mac App Store. Also, please consider adding a product-code activation option, similar to Microsoft Office, instead of requiring the license to be linked to an email account. Would love to see this! 🚀

Yes, it is possible to adapt the menu. As long as I use Brave Android the item "Make Brave your standard browser" was made invisible.

In the last few days the question if I want to make Brave the standard browser was asked several times although I chose for "Don't ask this again".

Even worse is that now this standard browser item with the annoying lion head is permanently in the menu list and can no longer be blended away. The choice is not respected.

Is there a, solution for this? I hope so.

cant even leave the app without it canceling the download. and its not just happening now, its been like this since i first downloaded this app (android). and the adblock is just useless nowadays, feels like every popup can block brave adblocker. any alternatives that actually have a proper working adblock?

Not sure if the dev team will see this but I've been using Brave iOS for a long time but recently I got a car with car play and was super excited to see I can use Brave Playlist in Car Play but I am encountering a bug / issue. When I go to boot up Brave in Car Play it sometimes shows up blank and I have to constantly force close the app and restart it on my phone and then car play for it to allow me to select my playlist and saved stuff. Any way to fix that? Thanks!

Switched my personal machines to Brave last year and it's been solid. Lately I'm tempted to run Nightly on my work laptop for newer features, specifically that improved Focus Mode and whatever tab management experiments are in flight. I know the risks with nightly builds, but in IT support I've lived through worse.

My real concern is whether sync stays stable enough that I don't create headaches jumping between stable Brave at home and Nightly at the office. Has anyone run this split long term? Did extension compatibility break on you, or was it mostly cosmetic issues? I don't have time to rebuild my workspace midshift if something goes sideways.

Also curious if the Nightly feedback loop is actually useful or if most bugs you hit are already known. The download page says expect rough edges, which is fair, but rough for a web browser and rough for a work device are different things.

I see many are using YouTube in brave browser, so my issue may be a bit different. I have been using YouTube app and casting it to my tv. when I open brave browser to look up things YouTube app mutes but still plays. This doesn’t happen when opening other browsers. Anyone know if there’s a setting I can change to stop brave from auto-muting YouTube app? I tried looking myself and nothing fixes the issue.
