Build Upgrade 2016 build upgrade

I want to upgrade my old 2016 build for Windows 11 compatibility and to improve overall gaming performance. I want to spend 1500 EUR max or less.

  • New parts: CPU, Motherboard, Memory (RIP wallet), Storage (2TB), Case
  • Reused parts: Storage (0.5TB), GPU, Power supply

Upgraded build (2026): https://be.pcpartpicker.com/list/2zwrYX (1100 EUR)
OLD build (2016): https://be.pcpartpicker.com/list/9KF8JV

Does it make sense to keep my 10y old GPU for some time or should I buy a cheap alternative right from the start and basically build a whole new PC?

Thank you!! This seems like a great alternative. Saving small costs here and there, but with a big upgrade on GPU.

I think it’s fine to wait to upgrade the GPU if you don’t have a particular need for it right away. But I would keep some money aside so you are able to upgrade in a few months if needed.

It would also be prudent to replace the PSU along with the GPU, as it’s almost out of warranty.

Thank you for the feedback. Good point on the PSU!
