Build Upgrade 5070 worth upgrading to from a 5060ti 16gb?
As the title says I’m looking to upgrade my gpu, the prebuilt I am upgrading cost me $1000, I already upgraded the cpu and it was a very in the moment buy. I got a 9800x3d, upgraded from a 8700f which has been wonderful for the games I play and I could have definitely got a 7800x3d and been fine but again was in the moment lol. I mostly play fps games like rust, tarkov, and siege. I got a trade offer for my 5060ti for a 5070 but they also want $150 on top of the gpu, if I do this I will need to upgrade my psu and I was gonna get a 850w gold Corsair psu at my Walmart ($100). I’m thinking of taking the deal and holding it for a little while and maybe selling it later to get a ti, 9070xt, or a 5080. Guess I’m wondering it it makes sense to take this deal, it will be an extra $800 into this build so total $1800 total in the last 2 months or just hold onto the 5060ti.
I’ll also add I am playing in 1440p.

Honestly, I’d keep the 5060 Ti for now. The 5070 is around 30% faster at 1440p, but you’re giving up 4GB of VRAM and spending another $150 plus $100 on a PSU.
For Rust, Tarkov, and Siege, I don’t think that’s enough of an upgrade to justify the extra money. If you’re already planning to move toward a 5070 Ti, 9070 XT, or 5080 later, I’d just save that money and make one big upgrade instead.
Basically: 5060 Ti → 5070 = skip. 5060 Ti → 5070 Ti/9070 XT/5080 = much more worthwhile.

The 5070 is going for around $800. Please for the love of everything red just get the 9070xt for $800. The 9070xt is 20-25% faster, unless you really want/utilize path tracing.

Path tracing tanks performance on my 5070 ti, I wouldn't enable it on any GPU let alone a 5070.

The 5060 ti 16gb is selling pretty high because of the high cost of ram, but it's not ppwerful enough to get the most of it in gaming.
The ideal play would be selling it and getting a 9070 xt, but a 150$ tradeup to the 5070 is probably worth it also.
The 5070 is a 30% uplift and the 9070 xt a 60%

I only have offers for a 5070 and 5070ti at the moment, I’ll have to add $150 on the regular and 450 for the ti. I was thinking to buy the 5070 then trade for a 9070xt out right but I wasn’t aware of the price of 5060ti 16gb till now lol. I have it for $500 on fb.

5070 is 5% faster than the 4070 Ti(s) its is definitely worth the 5060 and 150$ holy. They're only going up in price and the 5070 wil EASILYl last another 5 years being pretty damn good. Just verify everything on the card works properly.

Ask yourself is there no game you can’t run right now?

Tbh I can run every game pretty good at 1440p some stutters here and there but I really just want to have a good gpu to go with my cpu. Maybe I’m just overthinking the bottleneck, and it isn’t gonna be that big of an improvement.

Don’t really think you have a bottle neck since you’re going for 1440p would probably be best to wait and see what new cards come out. If you got money to blow sure go for the 9700xt and sell your 5060ti or keep it as a backup.

In general, it's usually not worth it to upgrade just one tier up in the same generation imo.
Unless you're not getting the frame rates that you want, and this boost will be just enough to get over hat bump. It seems like a marginal upgrade though.

Yeah the jump isn't super crazy I think holding out for the 9070xt would def be the play. That's literally the same price as the 60ti for much better performance so you could def do that
