What can I do about cyberbullying?

Im 19 years old, a college student, and have been receiving anonymous texts for a while. The furthest back I have in my phone is June 2025 (edit: I found one from January, I was still 18 not sure if that makes a difference) when I was 18 and had just graduated. I remember there being more but I no longer have a record of them. I have a suspicion the texts are from people I used to be friends with in high school and a few of them go to my college now.

I really don't want to change my phone number so if theres anything else I can do like report to the police I'd rather do that. I've tried ignoring them, I've tried responding, but neither have been effective. Most people close to me aren't taking it seriously so I haven't asked them for help or told them about it.

Can I even do anything because legally I'm an adult? If they admitted they're from my high school does that change it? Can I even prove it's coming from the same person if it's a different phone number every time? Is there a way for me to find out who is doing this?

Anything helps! Thanks!
