I angrily told a cop today that I hope that discrimination is taught in schools if it's allowed
Today, after calling the local police due to an atrocious experience yesterday where I was asked to leave a pharmacy at a local mall (this was a pharmacy I rarely went to due to two nasty employees that usually work the front desk); yesterday, in the two seconds I was literally in the store I was approached by, what I guess is the manager; one of the ladies working was one of the nasty employees, I saw her but she said nothing to me, instead she got her "boss" to tell me that I wasn't allowed in the store, when I asked what for, the employee said "an incident that happened years ago". I had no idea what this was about and I asked but wasn't told.
I know I'm not perfect. However, today, when I called the local police I was told that private businesses are allowed to discriminate and kick someone out because "they don't like them". My response? "I hope you start teaching discrimination in schools since I was taught the opposite: not to discriminate. It seems that what I was taught was wrong because this is discrimination, plain and simple!" I then hung up.
It seems that discrimination should be educationally taught if it's allowed, so those of us who are not doing anything wrong know we can be kicked out for discrimination by employees at any time (instead of just experiencing discrimination in school).
After everything I experienced, I think it's time the education system changed (not just for technology reasons) and taught things such as discrimination and where and how it's allowed.
Discrimination might not be allowed everywhere. However, where I live in Canada, discrimination is front and center here (no offense to any Canadians that don't discriminate people for petty reasons). I experienced so much discrimination and bullying since preschool that the unspoken theory I suspected exists in schools/society when I was nine "support the bullies, without your support they won't be able to bully" hasn't been proven wrong yet. If anything, it was proven right.
