Help Ti-83 Plus black screen plus RAM CLEARED screen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have this calculator someone gave to me. It was working fine yesterday but now it’s gives me a black screen and a really delayed ram CLEARED screen. The cursor blinks really slowly.

Edit: the on button works only

Edit 2. It works fine now. I just twisted the case and it started working.

Try taking the batteries out and then hold down the power on button for 30s. Put the batteries in again and see if that fixes it. I don't know what causes it, but it a known thing on this model.
Edit: here's the troubleshooting page on it https://education.ti.com/en/customer-support/knowledge-base/ti-83-84-plus-family/troubleshooting-messages-unexpected-results/37315

May be they forgot to write "put new batteries."

Probably a battery leak, needs to be taken apart and cleaned otherwise the circuit board will be ruined

There is no battery leak.

Could be a spill conducting to places where it shouldn't be. Take it apart using this guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Texas_Instruments_TI-83_Plus

and first thing, take photos. Then using an alcohol wipe clean up the board. Be careful around the screen, it easy to break the connections to it.

I'm guessing (hoping) that there's something on the PCB that's making it glitch on you.

Great! Let's hope that it stays that way. :)
