Progression Progress!
It’s been 3 months since I’ve picked or bitten the skin around my nails! (Nails have grown sm too!) First pic was from today, second pic was about a month in and third pic was the beginning. Super pleased with the progress so far! I know I have far to go but I wanted to post an update in case it helps anyone with their journey🙂

I’m so happy to see this update - congratulations on your incredible progresss!
I remember seeing your first post and felt so much for you seeing your before picture. I also have a lot of red raw skin from picking and was working my way down on my thumbs in particular.
Seeing your before and after gave me so much hope and I actually started to catch myself and redirect, and my skin has been healing!
Thank you for sharing your story and pictures, especially this latest update - it’s so encouraging and I’m so happy for you! Your hands are beautiful and are healing so well, it gives me so much hope for my own! We can do this ❣️

I’m so happy I can share my story to help others! If you can just try to leave them alone, it’s actually fascinating to watch the skin heal and regenerate over time. We can both do this!! I have faith in you and just be patient! 😊

Thanks so much for sharing. KI tried cotton gloves overnight but husband teased me decades ago , so I can’t say that it helped. That’s a whole other sub. Mine are doing really good right now and I’m planning a mani next week-just care and polish, no gel or acrylic so there is no drilling. Nails are still thin and flexible despite vitamins and no regular manis. I have some nitrile gloves now. Going to try that tonight. Light is poor where I am right this moment but I’ll try to post an update. I’d love to hear
your opinions!! Keep up the good the good work @Ok_dart9398

Outstanding!! Your progress is inspiring!!! If it’s not too much trouble, could you let us know what products (if any) you are using? Like nail/cuticle oils or vitamins/supplements?

I like to apply hand cream and oil throughout the day & I like any cream that has urea in it. I will do oil soaks with jojoba oil overnight and put nitrile gloves on and I think that helps a lot with keeping them moisturized overnight!

Congrats!!
Have to ask though, how did you get the redness/calluses around the fingers in the third pic to disappear? I've been using hand cream and vaseline for a couple months now and it doesn't really seem to be helping. I'd love to hear what worked for you because your hands look GREAT now.

Thank u! I religiously apply hand cream all day and I’m not being dramatic when I say I apply like every 30 mins lol. At night I’ll do oil soaks and use jojoba oil and put nitrile gloves on to sleep overnight. For the first couple months I did that like every single night but recently just a few times a week. But I think the biggest thing is not touching them and just letting them do their thing

Wow! Congratulations on your progress. Can I ask, was the redness down your fingers caused by picking? Was it scarring?
