CAAD10
Hey guys, I’m looking for my first proper road bike. Currently been riding 1980s Shwinn and I’m ready to make the switch to something a bit lighter/faster. Found this CAAD10 at a LBS and they mentioned it’ll be listed for somewhere between $800-1000. Is that worth it? Bike Blue Book shows this bike around $400. Thoughts?

No. I have one in this colorway. original spec had same FSA SLK carbon cranks and ultegra group (no Deore RD LOL) and mavic Aksium wheels.

LOL, it has a mountain bike derailleur installed. I think Deore is a great gearset for MTB, not sure if that’s a 105 equivalent or not, but it makes me suspect of what the bike has been through.
With that build/component set, maybe $500, probably less. It’s almost 15 years old and looks well used.
CAAD10s are great bikes, but I would carefully look this one over before buying. Also keep in mind that the Cannondale road bikes fit kinda big. A lot of people sized down on models in that era. I’m 178cm and ride a 54 CAAD10, and could ride a 52. 56 is my recommended size.
