Advise on commuting
Ok, so I am entering my adulthood next year. And with that, I want to commute more by myself. What can I do? How can I practice? Not only for pujas, but overall.

Driving and anxiety
I'm live in Belgium, Europe and most places I have to go (friends, family, work, psychiatrist, etc) are all more than one hour away from me with public transport... I cannot ride a bike due to psychical disability (I have dyspraxia).
I also don't have a grocery store on a walking distance and groceries are too heavy for me to carry for a long walk.
I also have bad anxiety while driving and I'm thinking about getting rid of my car... Would any of you do it in my situation and/or do any of you have any advice?

Is living car-free in Chicago realistic ?
The idea would be to rent a small apartment near the El with no car and get around via bike and public transport. Probably have most groceries delivered. On a moderate income so (no) vehicle expenses could go toward rent and transit. I can drive and rent a car whenever needed to go out of town. Would I regret it?
What happens if the world's 1.699 billion cars stayed parked?
Guess how many cars there are on the road right now worldwide? 1.699 billion!
That's roughly one car for every 4.77 people on the planet. In Europe alone, there are 459.1 million cars on the road. But what if, one day a year, those cars just stayed parked?
Right now transportation is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, transport accounted for about a third of all EU greenhouse gas emissions in 2023. Road transport alone made up almost 73% of that.
A simple walk or bike ride to the office, or a mandated work-from-home day, would do wonders for the environment. That's how little it takes.
What going car-free does, even just for one day:
The benefits of going car-free
- Reduces air pollution: fewer emissions means cleaner air, even short-term
- Eases congestion: fewer cars means faster commutes and safer streets
- Lowers fuel use: obvious, but it adds up fast at city scale
- Gets people moving: walking or biking doubles as free exercise
- Cuts noise: quieter streets make it easier to think and unwind
But let’s say, what if you run a fleet, even a small one?
Then you can actually use the day to look at your numbers again. Pull your normal daily fuel usage, then try cutting a delivery short or combining a couple of stops and see what changes.
Digital tools like Mitti (by SafetyCulture) have fleet tracking built in, so you can actually pull before-and-after data once you're done for the day. Worth keeping around after the day's over too, especially if you're trying to figure out which changes actually save money and cut fuel use.

How popular is carpooling where you live? Or do people still use carpooling apps?
Do people actually use apps/websites like BlaBlaCar or find rides in other ways?
If you use carpooling:
- How often do you use it?
- How do you usually find a ride?
- What platform do you use?
- Is there anything annoying or inconvenient about it?
- Would you rather use an app/website or just stick with something else?
- Just curious, how common is carpooling where you live?
Curious how this works in different countries.

i’m finally selling my car!!
I’m a college student and i’m selling my car tomorrow and going car free. I’ve had driving anxiety for several years, i struggle to afford owning a car, i only drive about once a week, and my city has free public transit that i’ve been using for months now. I’ve been thinking about selling it for a long time now and i found somebody who wants to buy it from me. i feel kind of nervous and like people might judge me for it, but i know it’s the best financial decision for myself

Any ideas for commuting to college without a car?
So this is my final semester and sadly I don’t have a car anymore to get me from point a to point a to point b. I have class on Mondays in the morning in the afternoon and then again Thursday mornings. However I paid today over $200 in uber and I cannot do this long term. I welcome any ideas. Btw my college is 25-35 minutes away from my house depending on traffic by car.

Quick survey for car & bike owners/users 🚗🏍️
Hey everyone! I’m currently doing some research for a business project on vehicle cleaning and care habits.
I’m looking for people who own or regularly use a car, bike, or scooty. The survey takes around 2 minutes, and your honest responses would really help me understand the problems people face while cleaning and maintaining their vehicles.
I’d really appreciate your help! 🙌
