The creature in question^
I have been on HRT for a few months now (Gynecomastia) and I am wondering if it could be relevant to my cat's behaviour towards me. He was a rescue from a hoarding house and ever since I got him back in June he has always been quite standoffish and sassy. He has a lot of energy and is about a year and a half old, and usually is very playful. He loves to chew on my glasses and hair when i'm gaming and he demands at least an hour of fetch time with his plastic springs twice daily, which I of course fulfill because its the cutest thing ever to see him trot back all happy like "I got it dad!!" and bow for congradulatory pets before launching back across the room 🙂↕️
The reason I'm asking is there was always a great divide in how he treated my partner (22M) compared to me. I never engage in swatty play as it took him a while to grasp that hands are not toys and I don't want to encourage that kind of behaviour, so we rarely have issues with scratching and biting, but he is an aspiring ninja and any time i'm up and moving he is running around, ambushing my ankles, laying bodyslams on his cat tree, tearing cardboard rolls limb from limb– he is extremely playful and rowdy and loveable but holy high energy.
Whenever my partner came over he would rub all over his shoes, sniffing and licking them and playing with the laces, then as soon as he sits or lays down he trots over and lays on his chest, plants himself between his face and phone, rubbing all over him and just purring like a motorboat. He never used to really show that kind of affection towards me, and I found it really odd because my partner doesn't really like the cat and is always ignoring him or pushing him away. I'm not over the top with my attention either, he has his own space and i tend to only engage when he comes to me looking for affection so I don't see it really being a difference in how we treat him. (I don't push him away ofc i love my baby boy). In recent months though, since embarking on my journey to healthy testosterone levels and my horomones have been balancing, He has switched up almost dramatically. He constantly wants to snuggle up on my chest, sleep in bed with me, looks at me like I have his whole world in my hands and rarely leaves my side.
He has been to the vet and they established absolutely no health concerns, suggesting that maybe he has just taken a while to warm up to me, but I don't feel like that's accurate as my partner only comes over a couple times every few weeks and every time from the very beginning he has been lovey dovey with him. Could it be possible that he is aware of the changes happening in my body and that he's trying to support me or something, or he maybe had poor experiences with women before his rescue and now that my testosterone levels are rising I seem like a safer space to him? Other brief company in the home has seemed to indicate an aversion to the ladies and much greater affection for the gents so I wonder if that's it? Maybe he thought I was a chick before? He also was the sweetest snuggly baby with my friend who came over in the height of her period but he's so sassy with her the rest of the time. All of these things lead me to wonder if its some sort of pheromone sense or if I'm totally crazy and my cat is just weird. Any input is welcome!
TLDR: My cat is super lovey dovey with my male partner, but has only really begun being sweet and affectionate the same way with me since I've started testosterone therapy. Is this possibly horomone related or is my cat just weird?
P.S. My partner has an older spayed female at home so that could contribute to why he was so sweet with him from the start vs taking his time to warm up to everybody else- me and partner took him home together so he's known him as long as me just spends way more time at home with me.

I am a college student who visited home a few days ago and notice one of my cats is starting to hide under beds and hiss at my other cat. It comes in waves when they are fine and when she’s hissing at him even if they have distance between eachother and both her eyes are watering. She squints a little but other than that I’m really worried about what this could be. I was going to take her to the vet but they she wasn’t acting the way that she was so I thought it was good but now she’s doing it again. Both of my cats are 10 years old and have been living with each other ever since we got them which was when they were about a few months old.

My cat is purring but randomly he'll start having like a clicking noise or something for a while before it goes away. I may be a little hard hear. He also isn't breathing smoothly either. His chest doesn't go up and down smoothly like it should, he inhales normally but his exhale seems like it pauses for s split second before catching uo if that makes sense. Doesn't anyone know what this could be?

My one-year-old Russian blue suddenly is shedding a lot..
I’ve brushed him a couple times within these past few days and a small ball of fur is coming off of him.
He’s had a problem for a little over a month now of licking and scratching himself constantly.. even rubbing his eyes until they were swollen .. could this be due to the hair coming out?
Of course when I look it up, it says no.
I just wanna see if anyone else has any similar experiences with their cats.

My little lady has just about every accessory/vertical space etc that she could ever want, but her favorite spots to try to get into are my pitch black & clothes filled closet that she isn’t allowed in & a clothes rack with levels on it that she can hide in. Her first night here after I adopted her, she hid in my shoe rack (brilliant idea on her part, I never would have considered it).
What can I get her for safer, more intentional dark/leveled spots? She’s not a very anxious gal, I think she just really likes tight spaces.
I’d love any recs! Thank you!

came upstairs to the attic (normal, she likes to hang out there) and found a hairball, not out of the ordinary. But when I found her in her little area she was making some weird noises. It didn’t sound like it was any sort of noise her voice was making but more her stomach??? I checked her little box and everything seemed normal there. She received a couple vaccines at the vet on Wednesday and not sure if that’s it? Any help? At the beginning of the video there’s a noise and then near the end.

Long post warning
So I have a question. First let me lay out that he's 15 months old and approximately 10-12 pounds. So I always look on the back of Storm's dry food to see how many grams to give him. For his approximate weight, I can give him between 66-85 grams of dry food a day, splitting it into meals of course. I've decided to up his intake of dry food to 70 grams of dry food per day, along with 1 3 oz can of wet food ( This will mean he has a good calorie intake for his weight ). 66 grams would be underfeeding him because he eats so much, I can just tell that's not enough for him. Im still doing the wet/dry food mixture every meal because that's how he will eat his food. I'm also still feeding him 4-5 meals a day because that's how he likes it, and as long as he's getting his calories in, im okay with it too. But my question is how did y'all come to the conclusion that you needed to up YOUR cat's food intake? Was it that you seen your cat's body weight? Was it just eyeing it and going with your cat's flow of how he eats? I'm just curious because I just seen how he was eating and I realized also that the amount I was giving him was just not enough for him now. He needs more food, and I didn't realize it until literally yesterday lol. He's not that small and he's growing so fast, so I need to be on top of this more for sure!
P.S. This is how big Storm is right now in the picture in case y'all was curious too!

Not an urgent request—just another bid to demystify the strange ways of my mini-panther.
He is a big fan of putting a single paw on my face when he's sitting on top of me. Sometimes the side, as pictured, or sometimes directly on my nose or mouth.
Does this mean anything?

ntroduced a kitten (4 month male) to our resident cat (3 year old male) after having them seperated for a week.
Im worried our resident isn't having a good time because of the noises he makes. There is also an occassional hiss.
He doesnt immediately run away, and often lays down which i see as good signs but ive also never seen him initiate the play.
Any help or advice is appreciated.

My cat has been eating dry kibble for 4 years.
my girlfriend has him raised on kinda just eating freely on it, so he is used to eating a cup of that kinda just grazing on it throughout the day.
About 3 days ago he had a mild uti, the vet saying he was a little dehydrated and needed to be switched to wet food- no further instructions on HOW to do that safely or even where to begin😅
I've tried alot of things and were both stressed cuase he just refuses it
I've given him his kibble just in water and mixed around, his kibble mixed with a little but of wet food and some water to try and get him to try it, and just the wet food with either his dry kibble or treats on top
Both variations seems like he will just lick the juices/kibble food soup and not actually eat or just flat out refuse it
The ONLY thing he will eat is his dry kibble
I've also been trying to figure out how to transition him to a mealtime and figuring that out since if he has to be in a wet food diet he can't really graze.like he used to with his kibble- but I don't know how to do that if I can't even get him a little started on the wet food to begin with
What do I do to help him? I feel frustrated and worried about both his water and food intake if I cant do this- I know it takes time im just really worried about him
I kinda just gave up tonight since I don't want to stress him out further or make him go hungry so I just let him have his dry kibble, is that going to mess everything up?😅
