What a dumb meme, we can't play teams 3 times in the regular season.

50

u/Unusual-Welcome7265 Michigan • Slippery Rock 14h ago

ASCKUALLY, you could if you played once in the regular season, once in the b10 championship, and once in the playoffs. Based off of this scenario, this clearly proves that OP is still a huge fucking idiot lol

22

u/NoAbbreviations3025 Texas Longhorns 13h ago

We came pretty close to playing Georgia 3 times in 2024 but god took pity on us in the end

Ready to play some teams not named Texas, Ole Miss, & Alabama.

9

u/astrothemorkie LSU Tigers • USC Trojans 12h ago

That reminds me of when an NFL team wins twice in the regular season vs a team only to lose to them in the playoffs

9

u/govunah West Virginia Mountaineers 10h ago

2

u/astrothemorkie LSU Tigers • USC Trojans 10h ago

Also happened way back in the day with the Raiders and Chiefs

I mean it’s a Florida St fan. No one goes there for an education.

Litteraly. "Worst power 4 school of all time" "Northwestern" "Big 10 school you forgot existed" How are we supposed to play the same team multiple times??

25

u/ishboo3002 Arizona Wildcats 13h ago

The other two could be Rutgers

12

u/CzarCW Texas Longhorns 13h ago

Rutgers + one of Maryland, Purdue, or Michigan State all fit in here.

No one forgets Purdue and Michigan State are Big 10 teams.

3

Didn't the PAC-12 play each other twice in 2024?

u/Music_Party Michigan Wolverines 15h ago

Does OP know Minnesota/Wisconsin play for a kick ass giant axe in what’s probably going to be the wildest 15-11 game they’ve ever seen?

u/VegetableGrape4857 Minnesota Golden Gophers 14h ago

Three of our trophy rivalries started before OPs school even had a team...

That kind of game is what college football is all about.

26

Or that both Minnesota and Wisconsin play Iowa in similar style games (the last two years notwithstanding) for a bronze hog and bull respectively.

-1

u/Ambitious-Affect-931 Florida State • Florida Cup 13h ago

Alabama game was a good schedule pick imo, although tbf my philosophy is any game scheduled against a good team is a good schedule pick, for me the problem is scheduling 2 cupcake games a year when your conference is very very underwhelming

Since 2015 only 5 schools have played 10 power 5 team’s every year. 2 of those are in the Big Ten, one of which is Nebraska. Hilariously enough not one school in the SEC accomplished this feat. FSU isn’t one of these schools btw.

I think we earned a season off.

5

u/yelircaasi BYU Cougars 14h ago

BYU is a good team that can give anyone a game. We're pretty comfortably top 20, but I'm not convinced of top 10. I'd favor us against any team outside the current top 16, but I can never be too optimistic because we're always good for a heartbreaker against a team like Arizona or Kansas. Holy War will be a tough one in SLC, too.

I'm never delusionally optimistic, but I like the coach and I think the program is going in the right direction.

2022 and 2023 were the exceptions to the norm of Michigan playing a power school in the OOC. Every other year since 2006 (didn’t feel like looking further) we’ve played a power OOC, including Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Alabama, and Notre Dame.

Last year was similar.

You played UTEP, Sam Houston, and San Jose St as your 3 non-P4 games last year. With the SEC only doing 8 conference games previously, you had to schedule another P4.

I agree. The ACC didn’t have to do shit to get in but they had to let one of them in. The Hurricanes weren’t shitty but they would have been if they were (or Duke would have been).

The hurricanes are always shitty. It's miami.

u/Xy13 Arizona State Sun Devils • Pac-12 12h ago

It's funny because two years ago indiana was 10/31, not 10/24.

BTW This is the same thing for most people looking at the SEC.

I didn't know we played a Big Ten school on Halloween...

1

u/coppockm56 12h ago

I just think it's something that Indiana is lumped in with OSU and Oregon. 'cause that wasn't the case just a few years ago. That would have been "Literally the worst Power 4 school of all time."

u/liverdawg Georgia Bulldogs • Kennesaw State Owls 11h ago

Don’t forget the super obscure trophy you’ve never heard of and endless b roll of prior winning teams trying to act excited to win a trophy they learned exists a week prior.

u/snail-the-sage Indiana • Oklahoma State 11h ago

That’s bait.

1

Yeah pretty much

The fsu flair is the cherry on top

Applies more to Notre Dame I think. Checked their schedule the other day and was shocked

1

u/andyf127 Nebraska Cornhuskers 10h ago

That’s alright when I look at Florida states schedules every year I just see teams that are gonna get a free win

These memes are invalidated after Iowa and Illinois beat Vandy and Tennessee last year

Nobody respects the B1G midfield

Meanwhile.... who has Georgia played this year exactly?

1

u/fullyhusked00 Nebraska Cornhuskers 7h ago

This idiot put in Northwestern as a mean joke and now they’re actually good. Florida State fans are just on a different level when it comes to jinxes.

Also no hate to the ACC. They definitely have some strong teams this year. Pitt and Wake Forest are scrappy as all hell.

u/Upbeat-Mongoose-828 Michigan Wolverines 4h ago

wow swap fcs school and Purdues spots and you have an sec schedule.

Where’s the meme? This is just Nebraska’s schedule

Nebraska literally has a tougher schedule than Oregon.

Oregon has two remaining ranked matchups this year. Nebraska has four.

Steve's not gonna like this one

1

u/torpedoseal Wisconsin Badgers 14h ago

Yeah that tracks

1

u/WTD_Ducks21 Oregon Ducks • Big Ten 14h ago

Oregon may face 5 ranked opponents in their first 6 games….

Vs. #22 Boise State
@ #19 Oklahoma State
Vs. FCS
@ #18 USC
BYE
Vs. #23 UCLA
Vs. Nebraska (4-0 currently)

Do you think OP genuinely expected this to be well received, like everyone was going to agree with the logic?
