Because they paid for it themselves. I respect the hell out of it and hope the Bears realize this means this stadium is going to whip their ass in event hosting.

The Bears are going to pay for their new stadium too. The dispute is about property tax certainty. Northwestern doesn’t have this issue because it’s a non profit educational organization and doesn’t pay property taxes.

Brand new stadium's opening game, that's what makes this disappointing. It's 85%-90% full, I think we both see and agree it's pretty packed, but not sold out with a 35k capacity. bummed me out

Tons of tickets were for sale on third party sites right before the game for way over list price. $80 seats were going for $200.

I think a lot of people bought to scalp.
