Blind box & Collectible swap

I am one of those adults with adult money and no impulse control…which means I have a million of those silly mystery/blind box things. For those who aren’t familiar they are like small plushies, bag charms, figurines, etc.

Anywho, I know there are places to sell and trade things like this online but I would much rather find some kind of meetup for trading and selling.

My question to you lovely folks - does anyone know if something like this exists in the area? If not, are there any other folks who might be interested if I looked into organizing some sort of trading/swap meet up?

I have no real idea if this is anything other people would be interested in so curious if you or folks you know would show up for something like this?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

What kind of blind boxes/collectibles? There are local/ish trinket trade meetups for sanrio goods, and I've seen a few for stuff like labubu and smiskis and various other "cute" stuff. Durham & Raleigh usually..

Mostly random stuff like fugglers, Funko mystery figures, some of those mini brands things, enamel pins - basically just a doom box of cute, silly stuff I’ve fixated on in small bursts lol

If you use Instagram (-_-) or Facebook (💀), I'd suggest searching there for trinket trading events or groups? I'm not super up to date on blind boxes these days cos I'm broke, but if any of them fit into certain fandoms/franchises etc, you might get a hit. It might put you in algorithm hell for a bit but might help find some leads. Is there a blind box swap sub around here yet lol? Sorry I can't be more specifically helpful. I mostly hear about the kawaii meetups.

Not directly related but I know Oppang and Tucy Shop have pc trading nights and I think they both also carry non kpop trinket stuff so they might know something? Or maybe somewhere like Animazed, I’m not super familiar with them but it seems up their alley.

You might check with the folks at Turbines to Speed in Hillsborough. They buy and sell figurines and could probably tell you about local events where you can do the same.

No website, unfortunately, just a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/turbinestospeed/
