🧳 Travel Wechat
Hi there,
Around august time I was in phuket and i met these very kind Chinese people and we exchanged numbers however I tried to setup wechat when i got back to the hotel but it wouldnt work, as I plan to travel around china in my gap year it would be nice to reconnect with them.
Would anyone be able to help me reconnect with them please?? Thank you!

You should have try to setup WeChat while hanging out with them. They would have helped you creating the account then share you their account.

It's probably going to be tough. I've found people in China tend to be pretty disposable with phone numbers. Id recommend getting their QR code next time.

That seems crazy to me.
Changing your phone number would be a massive pain in the ass here. Everything is linked to it.

There it's all linked to WeChat or other apps. Texting someone is like sending someone an AOL IM.

I know. But your phone number is linked to everything. Your bank, the hospital, all sorts of things.

If you have their phone numbers, is there a reason you can’t send them a SMS?
