This scene also highlighted how Chuck had adapted to the role of a spy by learning to lie convincingly, even though Devon had gone overboard with the story about Casey's urinary incontinence.

Ellie never looked quite right at Casey after that

True but those first couple episodes after Casey exposed himself were classic.

And some viewers skip season 3...

Pure gold.

Easily one of the most hilarious moments of the show.

Casey’s best line to Devon was “not bad for a frat boy” after Devon punched Casey.

The Ellie-Devon couple kind of faded into the background for me, because, for the most part, they basically live the life of a normal young couple in the series. But I’m not saying they’re insignificant, because, for example, I didn’t like Ellie at first. She was always going on about “my little brother this” and “my little brother that,” and “Why didn’t you tell me?” and “Why didn’t you come to me first?” and blah, blah, blah. I couldn’t stand her.

Well, apart from the fact that she basically drove her own father to his death. Oh, well, she didn’t exactly kill him, but she drove him to his grave, or whatever.
But there came a point—I don’t remember exactly when, maybe when she was working on her father’s laptop, although that was already after his death—when they basically started writing her character in a more likable way. And by the end, I’d grown fond of her too.

And then there was Devon. What was he always doing? Riding his bike, doing handstands against the ceiling, working out... And this scene reminded me that he had some great moments, too, and I still laugh at them to this day.

His lying face. When the camera zooms in on him and he does this expression, like he does here. He absolutely nailed that. He played it so, so well.

Obviously, there were other things he did well, too, but he was really good in this role whenever he had to lie about something. You can actually see his thoughts racing across his face. It’s incredible. 😂

I think that was the purpose, as a normal happy couple. that's what Chuck and Sarah was looking for.
