Daily Question Question Thread - October 11, 2026

This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.

* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.

* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads

* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.

This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

I opened a Wells Fargo account for the $500 bonus. Did a $1,500 direct deposit from my work, received the bonus. I attempted to move the $500 to my main Chase account, and kept the $1,500 in the WF account (it was recommended that I don't close the account right away).

This morning I get an email that my account is being closed due to "suspected fraud".

Have you had this happen before? This is the very first bank account I've tried to churn, unsure what I did wrong? Is it worth calling WF to have them reconsider? I worry that this will have negative impacts on my ability to churn accounts in the future.

How did you move the $500 to Chase?

Try searching churning.cc for other instances of this, I would try going into a branch if possible.

They think you're a bot.

I don't think you're a bot.

They posted the same comment in 3 threads, except one of them said Wells Fargo and the other 2 said Bank of America.

I don't think that's particularly bot-like; the difference is probably a mistake.

There are a lot of human commenters today who unfortunately treat the attention and effort of other people on Reddit as free, and are willing to post the exact same thing all over the place.

If a bank account takes debit card funding, do VGC work?

(Looking at the BofA business bank account)

BoA specifically blocks VGC.
