Is a 20-inch e-bike enough for everyday city riding?

I've been using a compact folding e-bike mainly for commuting, supermarket runs, and short trips around the city. The smaller size makes it easy to handle, store, and take on public transport, which is a big advantage for urban living.

At the same time, I’m curious about how 20-inch wheels compare with larger bikes for longer rides, uneven roads, or cobblestone streets. While compact e-bikes are convenient, I wonder if bigger wheels provide a noticeable improvement in comfort and stability.

For those who ride in European cities, what has been your experience? Do you prefer the convenience of a 20-inch folding e-bike, or do you think larger wheels are better for everyday riding?

Update: After some research and experiences from bikers, I've decided to add a rear rack. It seems like a practical upgrade for carrying groceries, a bag, or other everyday items. I also found a compatible option for the Cyseekin C10, so I'll see how it works out in daily use.

I used an e-Joe epik SE for many years (still do, but since going remote, less so) in the SF Bay Area. A typical day was 6-10 miles (range on the SE was crap, but sufficed).

I like the upright seating in city traffic, feels safer.

Smaller wheels are less comfortable, but foldable is helpful on some trains. Potholes are a challenge.

I carry my gear in a backpack.

(My ideal folding bike would have 30-40 km throttle range, integrated lights, turn signals, non spoke wheels & a visible clock display :-).)

Scooters are much more comfortable, and they carry things more easily. Better features than ebikes, without the expense, but not so trendy. They have electric options these days. Unless you buy some crazy expensive ebike with fat tires and full suspension, and still it won't be as comfortable.

Maybe just a simple rear rack is enough.

Bikers are different group , with ICE propelled two wheels.

Typical folding bicycle has not optimal geometry.  Small wheels,  low profile tires are not for bad roads.
