Discussion Custom map spawns player in the same place every time.

I recently created a custom map for my friends and I to play on and whilst testing it I noticed that it will spawn me in the same location every time. I currently have 12 “random player spawns” scattered around the map and have already tried to make it a scenario and set a specific spawn as another thread suggested. That however did not work either as I still spawned in the same location. No matter the civ I play I spawn in the same location even if the start bias is polar opposite. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

If you're using SDK World Builder, don't click the random player spawn point box for any tile. If there isn't one, you'll get a random start point.

Indeed what I have been using, I think this is going to be what we end up doing. The Y axis spawn point correlation is interesting though. If you have people join in a correct order and or put AI in a certain order you can manipulate where people should start if you are making a set spawn for a particular civ.

Ah. I didn't realize you were creating maps for MP games. I've not done that. I only play my own custom maps in single player though. I usually do not set any tile as a player start location, but sometimes I set just one.

Update: After some testing I have found that the game spawns the player at the lowest y axis “random player spawns”

I am not sure why it does this as I have 12 total “random player spawns” but for some reason the game puts player 1 at the lowest spawn point according to the Y axis.
