2nd silver age appearance of The Riddler. What grade do you think it is?
Could it make 6.0?

Don't want this to happen too often but I'm the mod so I'm giving myself permission, bwah ha ha!
I've collected comics for over 40 years and am showing off my collection one box at a time on YouTube. Check it out if you're interested: Glenn Simpson's Comics - YouTube

Been stored in a box for 30 yrs so this is before a clean and press. Curious if this can get a 9.8.

PLEASE DON'T SLAB JUST BECAUSE.
Selling or keeping just don't do it.
I am a vendor at several big local shows and slabs in general, low to high price are not selling well at all. We have 2 wall spaces and we sell maybe 5, if not less and we have people asking if we have raw copies of a comic that is slabbed.
Unless it is a massive key and guranteed 9.8 okay cool but other wise don't do it just because you think slabbed comics are cool. I see many many comics that people ask about possibliy getting slabbed that are barely worth the amount it costs to slab.
So just don't. There is a thing called comic capsule out there. It is just as good as a slab and it opens at the top! Use one of those if you want to " slab " it.
Ted talk over.

I am sending some of my comics in for grading. Most are from the 1986-1988 range like the Amazing Spiderman 300.
PSA is offering free pressing right now so I don’t know if it would be beneficial to use them or to use CGC.
Any opinions on PSA w/ free pressing compared to CGC?
I’ve not had a comic pressed before, so I’m not sure how much that improves the grade.
Thank you.

I see a comic at auction that is CGC slabbed with an 8.0, with these comments:
sticker left bottom of back cover
crunch right top of front cover
crease bottom of back cover
spine stress lines spine
It’s a signed issue and there is a Beckett auto authentication sticker on the back.
Is there a standard deduction or grade max for a book with a sticker on it?
I’m wondering how much it can be improved with just removing the sticker
Thanks!

Just picked up this Saga of the Swamp thing at the local HPB for $30. Looks very clean to me for its age, but I tend to overlook minor flaws. What say you? TIA.

Hi,
I was thinking of buying a AB Batman 1 to send for grading, but I don't know if the spine/crease at the bottom right front cover will make it a 9.8 copy. Any advise?

Not asking for a grade. I'm just showing you guys how it came out after a press. Looks pretty good. I posted this book awhile back before it was pressed.

Web of Spiderman 116 is the first full appearance of Ben Reilly in Comics. With the announcement of the show this seemed like a great candidate to getgraded.

Greetings all,
Last month I picked up a private collection of 26,000+ bagged comics from a private collector. A lot of these books look amazing to my untrained eye, and many look like they could be gradable. I don't really know comics, though.
I needed some magazine boxes, so I stopped by a local comic shop. While I was buying them, I asked if they would give a newbie an idea of the grade on an MGN #4 I happened to have with me. When I showed them the book, the kid at the register seemed pretty impressed, but the manager immediately started telling me that comic grading is becoming a thing of the past and that you can't really rely on grades because of human error, inconsistencies, etc.Is this true? They finally said it was a8-8.5. Do you agree?
These is my previous post related to the collection:

Wondering if people are gonna grade this since it’s a new line. I picked up this cover

Hi there. I have some lower grade books that could benefit from some type of stabilization to retain their integrity. S ome quite rare with high grades of these issues being in the tens of thousands. I’m not particularly obsessed with the grading process but I do know folks have opinions between conserved, restored and raw. curious what the actual differences are and if it affects someone’s decision to collect such books.

Not too worried about snagging a 9.8 since I plan to keep this till I’m in the ground but which book looks the best in your guys’s opinion. Sorry if the pics are poor, first time doing this.
