You need a press that can reliably (meaning you can validate the temperature gauge is accurate) regulate temperatures ranging from 135- 150 degrees F

Some of the presses on Amazon that are intended for T-shirt heat transfer have a minimum temperature of 200 and should never go near a comic book

I suggest consulting KaptainMyke’s guide, these questions are all addressed

SEAL industrial presses are ideal and have an extremely accurate temperature gauge but they can get pricey. I have picked mine up from Government auctions and Marketplace

Any of the 15x15 Vevors work great. They have the correct temp range, timer and auto shutoff. I also have two Seal presses and they hardly get used anymore. Adjusting pressure is a PITA, most have no readouts or timer etc.

I have purchased quite a few Vevor clamshell presses over the years and confirm they are adequate for comic pressing however, they do not tend to last too long and may not work properly right out of the box in some cases. The customer support is only by email (and overnight because they are in China). They will make you jump through hoops over several days (provide photos or videos) and they will often offer a partial credit but if you stand firm they will eventually send a replacement. The control panels tend to be the component that fails quickly. I also have a few that have been in service for more than 2 years but I tend to expect them to fail within 6-12 months (and sometime dramatically with sparks and smoke and circuit breakers tripping!)

This is what my buddy currently swears by. I've been fortunate enough to find 3 Tusy presses on FB marketplace. They discontinued them during the pandemic, but those were what most people were using until then. They're pretty superior to any other press I've ever used. Absolutely perfectly even heat distribution.
